Obituary

Edward (Ed) Lee Trader, 89, of Independence, Missouri passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2020 in Allen Texas. He was born to parents Harley and Vivian (Wood) Trader, on July 14, 1930, in Kansas City, Missouri. Ed was a 1947 graduate of Northeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. On April 25, 1953, Ed married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Hoffman, and had three beautiful children, LeeAnn (Tom) Welch of Blue Springs, MO, Paul (Sandra) Trader of Allen, TX, Barry (Tammy) Trader of Columbia, MO, six grandchildren, Michelle (Will) Le of Arlington, VA, Amy Trader of Munich Germany, Jessica Welch (Paul) Hernandez of Seminole, FL, Robert (Jordan) Trader of Arlington, VA, Matthew (Isabella) Trader of Richardson, TX, Nicholas Trader and Taylor Mathis of Allen, TX and four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Le of Arlington, VA , Kody, Kameron, and Dariann Hernandez of Seminole FL. Ed served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954 aboard the ship U.S.S. Collet during the Korean War. Ed was employed at Bendix from 1956-1974 and ACGO (Allis Challmers) from 1974 until his retirement in 1993. Ed was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa.  He enjoyed being with his family, going to the casino, watching the KC Chiefs and Royals and MU Tigers, and very much enjoyed meeting and talking with people, and telling stories. Ed is survived by his wife Elizabeth. He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Bonnie, Harley, Mary, Bobby, Jackie, Don, and Judy. Funeral services will be held at the Aria Cremation Services & Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Rd, Dallas, TX on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

    Ed was a great Man, spent quite a bit of time at their home with Paul. I have known the whole family since about 1970. Our hearts go out to you all.

    Mrs. Trader, LeeAnn, Paul, and Barry; please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Mr. Trader. I have very fond memories of him and he was very nice to me and my family. My parents respected Mr. Trader a lot and I know he will surely be missed. All of you and your families are in my thoughts.

    Betty, LeeAnn, Paul and Barry, I am so sorry to hear of Eddie’s passing. I always enjoyed visiting with him when I would come to visit Mom.
    He knew how to tell a story. Our family was lucky to have such great neighbors! You and your families are in my prayers during this difficult time.

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."
