LANGLEY, MICHAEL L.
Obituary
Michael Lee Langley was born October 1 1973 in Dallas, Texas. He passed away on May 31 2020 at home. He was preceded in death by his father- Roy Andrew Langley, his grandfather John McGibboney, his uncle Hugh McGibboney and his beloved grandma Emma McGibboney. He is survived by his mother Virginia L. Tessman. And many aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1991. After school, he attended North Lake Junior college in Irving where he pursued a certificate in computer technology. After completion of his schooling, he built computers and computer programs for many people. He built my first desk top computer with all the bells and whistles. He was very diligent in his computer work. Before his uncle Hugh passed away and was very ill, Michael took over as caregiver for his grandma. He did all the cooking, cleaning, washing and yard work for her before she passed away in 2010 at age 91. Then he fell into a dark period of his life where his depression started. Michael attended Lakeview Church with David and myself where he was baptized in 2017. He really enjoyed Sunday school that was taught by Larry Land. Michael attended truck driving school at one point of his life, thinking he’d like to travel the country. But, after several months on the road he decided that was not the life for him. Then he attended Concord School to pursue a career in being a physician’s assistant. About one month into school the instructor told him that he was really too old to be selected for a job because there were too many young ladies in class that would be chosen over him. So, he dropped out. Michael worked for Jimmy John’s in Las Colinas for the past 5-6 years. In the past 4-5 years, Michael took up a hobby of retooling hand guns and enjoyed going to a couple of gun ranges to shoot targets. After his death, my brother, Don, discovered a lot of superior gunsmith equipment in his room and mentioned the fact that Michael was very smart in the art of gun retooling and could have had his own business being a very successful gunsmith. Michael will be cremated and his remains buried at my nephew’s cemetery in Scurry, Texas where I will be buried upon my death and where my loving husband David will also have his urn buried.

I know you are at last in peace my son. No more fears, tears, disappointments or hating life. You are happier than you have been in a long time AND you are with Grandma. Rest In peace-I’ll see you again someday.
Virginia, Sending in Heartfelt and Sincere Condolences. I’ll never forget spending time with Michael at Jeff and Lori’s at Johnny’s 80th Birthday celebration. We two ate and resigned to the living room, we talked about a lot of different things and we both nodded off from being so comfortable, out tummy’s full and good conversation. I imagine I’ll be joining Michael, David, you and the rest of the family at the J& L cemetery. Sending my Love and ((Hugs)) Debra
I am sorry for the loss of Michael! May he Rest In Peace with love!
I am so sorry Aunt Virginia. I wish there was something I could say or do to take your pain away. He is definitely in a better place and I hope you find comfort in knowing that. Love you to the moon and back!
Michael you will missed love you
Virginia, my condolences to you and your family ♡
It has been 2 months today Michael that you took your life. I’ve spent many hours crying for your loss and probably will for a long time. Losing David was hard, but losing you took a big piece of my heart with you. You will be forever in my daily thoughts and I remind myself daily of the fun times we shared in your youth. I know your reason for taking your life and een though I’ll never get the imagine out of my head of seeing a hole in your forehead and all that blood on your chest, I understand your reasoning and will always love you. I know you finally found your happiness and joy in heaven and you are with your grandma whom you loved so very much. Rest in peace my son. I love you 🙂
Today marks 3 months since you took your life Michael. I have had to deal with so many of your business affairs and never knew how much debt you were in. But, in that journey, I have encountered so many kind and caring people. One young man in particular, Chad, asked me if I was a Christian, I replied I was and he offered to pray for me. He seemed so sincere when he offered his condolences for my loss of you. Dealing with Chase bank was a challenge, but I got it accomplished. I finally recovered your cell phone and will use it myself. Your car is now being used by Brett and he dearly loves driving it. And, it has been repaired from the accident you had back in March. One last detail has to be accomplished- your memorial which will be October 3rd and burial of your urn at Jeff’s cemetery following the service. I know Michael how much you hated funerals after your Grandmas, and I know how much you would not have wanted a memorial service for yourself, but it is mainly for me to show one last gesture to celebrate your life. I have my wonderful memories of you as a child and young teenager and all the great times we shared. I am happy you finally found your happiness and joy that you didn’t have on this earth. Rest in peace son. I love you still with all my heart and always will. Someday we will be together again.
The internet came to regional NSW Australia in the late 90’s. Mike was the first person I had contact with. I met him on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and he showed me how to find software for free. We lost contact 5 years ago and only regained contact in April 20. My last email to him was sent in June. I found out about his death when I logged on to IRC today after 6 month absence. I am gutted. A good friend I never got to meet face to face. Miss you NWO.
Bob, I am just now seeing your condolences for my son. It will soon be 2 years since I lost him and I think about him every single day. I am so happy to know that he had a friend out there that he connected to about computers. Michael was very smart and could do anything he put his mind to doing. He often told me what an evil place this earth was and how he was ready to go. He suffered sever depression, but I thought in the last few months he was alive that he had conquered a lot of that depression. I hope you and he shared many great conversations. Thank you for being his friend and bringing some sunshine into his life.
God bless you.
I met Michael through Jimmy John’s; I grew fond of him over the years and was surprised when he had mentioned some technical computer terminology. I pursued education similar to his and I’m saddened by the loss of opportunity that was the conversations we could’ve had. Aside from that, he was always kind and patient with me.
Rest in peace, Michael.
