Obituary

Jordan Elizabeth Kiss, age 35, died after being struck by a vehicle while waiting to cross a Dallas intersection on November 7th, 2020. Born on September 5th, 1985, Jordan grew up in Carrollton, Texas where she was an accomplished figure skater and played soccer. A lover of music, Jordan played piano and sang beautifully. She attended Hebron High School, played clarinet in the marching band and was a member of ROTC. After high school, Jordan worked as an administrative assistant in Grapevine, and became a proud and loving mother to her daughter, Avery Isabella, her life’s light and joy. Jordan’s loving and gentle nature was such a blessing to everyone around her. She proudly wore her heart on her sleeve and saw beauty in the small things. Her uniqueness, sensitivity, and kindness were unmatched. She taught everyone around her the importance of loving deeply, and wholeheartedly. Jordan is survived by her daughter, Avery, her parents, Joseph and Barbara Kiss, siblings, Alex and Taylor Kiss, Grandmother, Evelyn Nejmanowski, and a long list of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who love and miss her dearly. Jordan, There are not many in this world who can match the compassion and kindness you always showed to others. I am so at peace now because you will no longer have to suffer any pain or sorrow in this world and I am certain that you are in the loving arms of Jesus. Until we meet again, your loving father, Joe.

Jordan, I miss you. I wish we had more time together the past few years, but I am so grateful to have been blessed with the sweetest big sister on earth. Thank you for comforting and protecting me as a child, and most of all thank you for showing me that everyone deserves love, patience, and care. Your capacity for forgiveness and love, and your unending strength in the face of adversity inspire me and give me hope. I will always hold close to my heart the memories we share. Please Rest In Peace and know that we all loved you.

It was such a pleasure getting to know you. I wish it had happened sooner. Your kind, sensitive and loving nature was evident in that short time. Even if I hadn’t met you, watching Avery grow into a lovely young woman tells me so much about you. It’s obvious she has been and still is greatly loved. I’m sure you are watching over her with pride. You will be missed by so many. Rest peacefully while you are warmed by God’s light and grace.

Jordan was my only older cousin on my mom’s side and one of my first friends. To me she was infinitely cool. When we were young I admired her sense of fashion and her taste in music. She was always kind, never treating me like I was too young to tag along. I didn’t get to see her as often as we grew older, but enjoyed the time we did get together. Seeing her become a mom and love her little girl was wonderful. She also brought a lot of joy to my grandmother whenever she was around. She will be very missed.

    Jordan,
You’re such a beautiful person. From the first time i met you i thought you were so sweet and such a caring person and how much Avery favored you. We were able to spend some time together getting to know each other at Great Wolf Lodge at Avery’s Birthday party. You shared with me how much you loved Avery and were trying to get things sorted out so you could have an apartment close by. Your love and concern for Avery and appreciation of our girls friendship showed me just how much you loved Avery and how caring of a Mother and person you were. I am glad i was able to get to know you and I will forever love and look after your sweet Avery. She is like Family to us. I know you are with Jesus now and you are at peace.

I am so sorry for the families loss. I do not know jordan but I just wanted to share my coincidence, I am the mother and wife of Brian Hampton who was also killed at the same intersection In 2017, I went to check on my husband’s cross and saw Jordan’s. It was beautiful. I will continue to check on hers when I check on my husband Brian’s. Unfortunately you have to be careful what you put at that cross bc the homeless people have stolen any additional items ever left except the cross, so be sure to nail anything to the pole. I also used Aria cremation, same location for my husband. And my husband’s daughter’s name is Jordan. May not mean much to you all but it was kinda crazy to me of these coincidences. Much love and so sorry for your lost, she is in my prayers. Love Breanna Hampton.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
