Obituary
John “Greg” Gregor Stark, 77, of Dallas passed away on July 29, 2013. Mr. Stark was born on June 8, 1936 in Provo, Utah to the late Frank Gregor Stark and Freda Rachel Rasmussen Stark. He lived briefly in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as a youth with his parents and sister and graduated from Daingerfield, High School in Daingerfield, TX in 1955. Greg attended Kemper Military School in Boonville, MO from 1955 – 1957 where he was valedictorian and Cadet Commander in the Corp. He also attended Texas A&M University and is a 1963 graduate of Stephen F Austin with a degree in math & physics. Greg was a cadet in the Aggie Corp. Greg married Dollye Jo Luton in 1967. He spent many years in Dallas, TX with Southland, Blue Cross, and INA Insurance Company. He and Dollye (“Dee Dee”) founded Apple IT Travel in 1982 and was CFO at the time of his death. He is preceded in death by his father Frank G Stark of Longview, TX (1975), his mother Freda R Stark of Abilene, TX (2000), his sister Susan Stark Reeves of Abilene, TX (2009), his father-in law Doyle Thomas Luton of Dallas, TX (1983) and his mother-in-law Dorothy Luton (1966). “Johnny” is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dollye Jo Stark of Dallas, TX as well as his nephews, J Marc Hawkins of Austin, TX and Christopher S Hawkins and spouse Cindy R Gunderson of Austin, TX and his two Great Danes, Zeke and Portia. Greg will always be remembered as a kind and gentle soul and a loving man to everyone he encountered. He enjoyed being with his family and having a good time. He was a good listener and cared deeply for his family and friends. We love you Johnny Greg! In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his honor to ALS Research at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Office of Development, 5323 Harry Hines Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75390-9009 (or online at utsouthwestern.edu, “giving”). I remember Gregg as a very intelligent, lovable fellow at Daingerfield High School. He was a friend to everyone and made the world a better place thru those years. My condolences to his family.
