Permenter, Marcus Alan
Obituary
A light has gone out on this November 25th, 2020 and the warmth of a heart of gold is now passed on to the hearts of many that have forever been changed by Marcus Alan Permenter.
As a baby boy he always put on a smile that would instantly cause those around him to instantly adore him. When he was almost two, his grandparents were helping he and his Mom pack for a move. Marcus asked Papa, his grandfather, “What are you doing?”, Papa answered that he was disconnecting the VCR to put it in a box. Marcus immediately became visibly upset and began to reach for the VCR and into the tape slot with his little hand. He pulled out a half eaten cheeseburger. That sweet boy was saving it for later.
Although not always a perfect kid, growing up in the Texas and Washington areas he always tried to care for those close to him. His time at Job Corp was an amazing experience that helped him grow and figure out who he really was. It was at Job Corp where he met Mr. Lucas who became a mentor in more ways than he’ll ever truly know. Marcus loved and respected Mr. Lucas immensely and the lessons he learned would carry through as he grew to be an amazing man.
Marcus became an integral part of the Bear Lair family while in Dallas, always taking care of everyone just as his Momma always took care of him. He would look after everyone with his warm personality, quick wit and humor, and his “Namaste…right here.” Not wanting to be the center of attention, but always being the first to provide support when needed. He made his Sir proud and lived up to their shared promise, “Always be my boy.”
Marcus is survived in the hearts of many, through his Mother Amy Youngblood, Nana Genny Youngblood, Aunt Stacy Hall and Husband Ryan, Uncle Matt Youngblood, Aunt Peggy Enloe, Aunt Shirley Salmon and Husband Ron, Cousins Trevor Long and Chad Toney, Brad Sublette and Pat Sublette, his Sir Charlie Bolante, and in all his extended Bear Lair family Anthony, Rueben, MJ, Shawn, Jamin, and so many more it would be impractical to name everyone.
Words only limit the extent of your story and complex weaving of the lives you affect with your light. You are so much more. We will always remember the warmth of your hugs, the smile to let us know you care or have a devious plan up your sleeve, the bright eyes of hope and wonder, the hearty laugh of pure joy, the tears of empathy and care you shared to comfort those of us in need. Oh and those BBQ ribs! The amazing man that we are proud you’ve become, the loving son and boy, the uncle, the brother, the friend and the many other impactful roles you have achieved. You’ve left your mark!
Rest now gentle soul, thank you for being a part of our lives, we love you!!! Until we meet again. Sweet Dreams Sugar Bear, Momma loves you!
