Obituary

Diane Marsha Davis died peacefully in her home on July 24, 2013 at the age of 66, after a courageous and valiant battle with ovarian cancer. The eldest of two daughters, Diane was born on July 8, 1947 at Great Lakes Naval Base near Waukegan, Illinois. She was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Chicago at age 18. On March 20, 1971 in the “Windy City” Diane welcomed her first-born daughter, Sasha Alene.

Diane relocated to Los Angeles in the early ‘70’s where she held various positions in the medical field.

On Christmas Day of 1978, Diane gave birth to her second-born daughter, Leslyn Dimara. Two years later, on January 31, 1981, Diane’s youngest daughter, Lynessa Lesha entered the world.

In 1982, Diane and her family relocated to Texas where they’ve lived the past three decades. Diane worked diligently to provide for her family, and recently retired from FedEx where she was employed the past 24 years.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Harry Davis. She is survived by her best-friend and life-partner of eleven years, Cindy Bridges; her sister Bonnie Davis; her daughters Sasha Pacheco, Leslyn Brown, Lynessa Brown and their spouses Arnold Ochoa, Lucas Perilla and Lloyd Brown, II; her grand-children Andrew Pacheco, Jonathan Pacheco, Anthony Pacheco, Alexander Ochoa, Amanda Ochoa, Bria Branch, Donovan Perilla, Christian Brigham, Michaela Brigham, Cameron Brigham; and her cousins George and Barbara Davis of Waukesha, WI, Mary and Jim Wolfgram of Muskego, WI, and Claire Davis of Lewiston, ID.

Astrologically speaking, Diane was the quintessential Cancer for whom home and family are of supreme importance. Diane was interested in everything, believed in the goodness of people and the mystery and magic of life. She was loved by many, will be missed by all who knew her, and will live on in our hearts forever.

Diane’s family would especially like to thank Dr. Bruce A. Fine and his nurse, Allyson Jones, for their genuine kindness and compassion while treating Diane the past three years. Diane thought Dr. Fine “hung the moon” and trusted him implicitly. Her family is very grateful for his loving and attentive care.

A memorial service to celebrate Diane’s life will be held Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Aria Memorial Chapel in Dallas. Overflow parking is located at the Lowe’s parking area behind ARIA Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home, 19310 Preston Rd., Dallas, TX 75252, 214-306-6700.

Diane was an amazing woman, but I’m not saying anything that is new to anyone. Her love for family and friends was truly unconditional! If ever asked, If you thought you had met an angel here on earth who would you say, There is no thinking about the answer, it would be Diane. Actually, I’m not all sure that she isn’t.

I remember the first time I met Diane. I was a young girl, in high school, and I remember thinking she was so cool! She was just such a free spirit and sooo full of laughter. Always and forever smiling or laughing about something. I’m so blessed to have known her and I know Heaven is way more colorful with her creative self, up there Bedazzling her angel wings! Lots of love to the family!

Diane was a cheerful member of the customer service team at DALRC for FEDEX, as well as hard-working.
I still have a bright red knitted scarf she hand-made for me one Christmas. I moved to a new position in 1997, and sorry to hear of her recent passing. I will keep her family in my prayers.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
