October 13, 1957 - January 2, 2021
Norman Dean Hawkins, born October 13, 1957 to Clara (Wells) and Norman Hawkins, passed peacefully January 2, 2021 with his wife of 29 years, Emily Buford Hawkins, at his side. Raised in Hinton, Oklahoma, Dean was a lifelong Sooner fan and went on to receive his bachelor’s and juris doctorate degrees from Oklahoma University before earning his LLM in Taxation from New York University.
Dean leaves behind a family legacy as well as a professional one – forming N. Dean Hawkins & Associates, Inc. in 1992, he was recognized by Texas Lawyer as one of the top attorneys in the state and was a published author and sought-after speaker in his field.
Dean will be greatly missed by his wife, Emily, two children, Douglas and Allison, three grandchildren, Penny, Parker and Otis, his brother, Eldon, as well as countless family and friends.
Dean is preceded in death by his mother and father, Clara and Norman Hawkins, and sister, Norene Valentour.

Our heart and thoughts go to Dean's family at this hard time. As one of Dean's first cousins I have fond memories when I was young boy when we visited the farm house. Being the same age, Dean and I played non-stop, in fact, I remember a really cool red toy fire-truck that saved that farm house.
