Obituary

Andrea (Andie) Jean Studley, 16, of Richardson, died peacefully in her sleep on August 1, 2013. She was born October 22, 1996 in Plano, Texas, the daughter of Tim and Jeanne (Toppert) Studley. Andie was a rising junior at Wylie High School. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Beverly Toppert, and paternal grandparents, George and Erma Studley. She is survived by her parents, Jeanne and Tim Studley; brothers Reid and Brett Studley, Uncle Larry and Aunt Deb Toppert, special cousins Alissa Toppert and Wes Toppert Polen, numerous aunts and uncles; Bob and Linda Toppert, Mrs. Chuck Toppert (Judy), Trudy, and Butch Helton, Lorinda and Charles Inman, Ileana and Fred Koerner, Violetta and Tim Hall, Gwenna and Doug Jacobson, Tom Studley and many cousins.

A loving daughter, sister, loyal and caring friend, Andie was intelligent, academically driven and athletically inclined. She ranked 4th in her high school class and received the 2013 Wylie High School Demonstration of Character Award.  Other awards and honors include Academic All-District, she was an officer in Spanish Honor Society, in the Gifted and Talented Program, Vice President of the National Jr. Honor Society, a Star Student, in Rachel’s Challenge, and on the Wylie High School “A” Honor Roll every six weeks.  A special honor was her selection and participation as an ambassador in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference this summer.

Andie demonstrated great skill, hard work, and determination on and off the field. She was a fierce competitor and constant source of support for all of her family, friends and teammates at Wylie High School and Sting Royal ’97. She played to win.  She was a member of the Wylie Pirate Varsity Soccer Team both freshman and sophomore years. She received All-District honors both years.  She played for the Sting Organization for six years.

Andie always strived for perfection.  She set goals and attained them.  She was both ambitious and a “little bit” stubborn. As well as having fun she loved having her nails painted and shopping with her mom. She was beautiful and always had that smile.  Andie will be greatly missed by all.  Her parents would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and affection at this time of their loss.  All of the administrators, aides, teachers, and staff at Wylie High School, Andie’s soccer teams, coaches and their parents, the team members, coaches and parents from the many sports teams Andie played on in her youth and all the neighbors, friends and family members have been amazing in their support.  They would like to especially express gratitude for the friendship, love and support that Jennifer Hiddink shared with Andie as her best friend; and we are grateful for the care and love of Jacquie Hiddink, her children and Debbie Reinhardt-Young. This cannot be done alone.

The visitation will be at Aría Funeral Home from 6pm-9pm on Wednesday, August 7th.  19310 Preston Rd. Dallas, TX 75252. The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, August 8th at First Baptist Church Wylie. 100 N. 1st Street, Wylie, TX 75098. A Wylie Education Foundation Scholarship has been set up in honor of Andie. I was not friends with her, but Andie had an exceptional character. It’s a tragic loss, but I am glad those around her were blessed with her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time. Although I didn’t know Andie, she presence was felt by many. Her many accomplishments and connections in such a short time highlighted what an exceptional young lady she was. May God be with you as you move forward without her.

    Tim,
God bless you and your family in your time of need. I unfortunately didn’t get the chance to meet Andie, but she seemed to embody everything in a kid that a parent could ask for. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please let us know what we can do to help even if it’s as simple as listening. We’re all here for you. Take care my friend.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
