Rasheta, Larry Bruce
Obituary
On Monday April 12, 2021, Lary Rasheta, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 80. He succumbed to cancer surrounded by his wife and three sons. Lary was born on June 12, 1940 in Kankakee, IL to Shirley Beatrice Cravens, and later adopted by his stepfather, Nicholas Rasheta. Much of his childhood was spent in Michigan. Lary married the love of his life, Tere Avitia, on March 4, 1977 in Texas beginning a beautiful 44-year marriage. His three sons Dak, Nik, and Noah Rasheta were his pride and joy. Lary has eight grandchildren, four surviving siblings, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews, extended family, and close friends that will cherish the memories and impact he made on their lives. Lary was an entrepreneur and ran several businesses throughout his life, most notable are his landscaping and pottery businesses. He didn’t like to sit still for long, and that included a love of travel. His brave spirit led him to move his family to Guadalajara, Mexico from 1993 to 2001 to grow a business and live near his wife’s family. Lary was generous, adventurous and a known prankster and risk taker. He was fiercely loyal to his family. Lary will be missed for his infectious laugh, generous encouragement, service to those he loved, and his incredible gift of storytelling. A private celebration of life will be held with a date to be determined. Letters or gifts may be coordinated through his daughter-in-law, Anissa Rasheta. Please email arrasheta@gmail.com. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
