Lopez, Julio Caesar
Obituary
The family of Julio Caesar Lopez feel blessed to have shared their lives with a bright and loving soul. Julio departed this world on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the age of 53. A man with a heart of gold who would light up a room with his contagious laughter. Also known as “Papa Bear” to his family, Julio was the gentle giant who prioritized his family over everything else, including himself. Julio was born and raised in El Paso, TX as a second-generation Mexican-American from parents who migrated to Texas in the 1960s. Julio was the first college graduate from his immediate family, graduating from McMurry University in Abilene, TX. He was also the star athlete of the family playing sports in middle school throughout high school, and even college, winning multiple district titles in football and wrestling. To this day, he laid the groundwork for a long line of wrestlers in the Lopez family. He had a love of family road trips, family holidays, camping, and attending Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, & NFL games with his boys and younger brother. Julio is survived by his ex-wife, Daniela Freihofer; their children, Eric Lopez, Marco Lopez, and Cristian Lopez; and grandchild, Aaliyah Lopez. Julio is also survived by his siblings, Maribel Lopez, Laura Lopez, Alex Lopez, and Jaime Lopez; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who ALL loved him and will miss him immensely. Visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Aria Cremation Service & Funeral Home in Irving. Flowers, prayers, and/or posted memories are welcomed.

My condolences to the family. I had the privilege of working with Julio and he was a beacon of light. I loved his character and his admiration for his family. He loved to help others and always had words of encouragement. The Bible says blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted. I pray for your comfort and strength during this time.
Julio and I worked together at Progressive for many years. He was funny, kind, hard working and a great friend. He will be missed!
Gone too soon primo. I will never get to “see you again” and that hurts. But I know that you are now in a better place and one day I will “ see you again”

Julio was such a great man. I loved working with him as he always kept me laughing. One thing I know is that he loved his family. We bonded over our boys and of course our bath and bodyworks sales. Julio will be missed dearly and I will forever be his Shasta soda and Shastita. Julio will truly be missed.
Julio was on my team at work and I will definitely miss his quick wit and incredible humour. I wish I would have talked to him more because I won’t have that opportunity again. Rest in Peace Julio.
