“Uncle Bill” Willie Burke Bevill of Honey Grove, TX passed away on May 22,2021 just a few weeks short of his 100th birthday on June 3rd. Bill was born on Jun 3, 1921 to Ben Morris Bevill and Frances Louise Carter Bevill in Owensboro, KY. He married Goldie Moore in 1939 and had his first child Rebecca Ann in 1941. He served in the army as a marine engineman on a ship in the East Indies, New Guinea, and the Philippines. He was honorably discharged in 1946 with many medals including 4 bronze stars, a Philippine Liberation ribbon, theatre ribbon, good conduct ribbon, a bronze arrowhead, victory medal and a personal letter written from the president. On November 2, 1972 Bill married the love of his life Gloria Jean Myers and had his 2nd child Terry Lee in 1957. Uncle Bill loved spending time with his family and driving to Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. He worked hard his entire life as a mechanic and retired in his 800s. He spent his last few years in Honey Grove with family. He is preceded in death by his parents, his little beloved brother Phillip Otto who passed away at age 14, sister Thelma, his 2 nephews Aaron and Billy, wife Jean both children Becky and Terry and Great Granddaughter Terry Lynn. He is survived by Grandchildren Vicky Knobloch and Mark, James Burch and Jeri Lynn, Cindy Wood and Norris, Barbara Coy and Rodney and Crystal Langham and Lloyd, Christina Bagley and Bryan, and Gregory Burke He also has 12 greatgrandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. He departed on the week of his daughter Terry and wife Jeans’s birthday to celebrate his 100th birthday in heaven and will be deeply missed.
