I had the privilege to work for, and with Dick, from early 1984 when he joined Texas Instruments, through RepublicBank Dallas, SSBA, MBNA, and Bank of America.

Dick was an incredible person who cared about all of us he worked with and even more about his family. He built teams of people who cared about, and looked after each other. I will always remember our time together and especially his words of wisdom when a much younger “me” needed to hear it.

I will always be grateful for our time together. I pray for comfort to Betty, the children and the grand children.

I have been greatly blessed to know Dick since 1999 when I joined MBNA and Dick became a mentor to me all the following years through BoA acquisition and his retirement.

Dick was a faith-filled man with great integrity and continually supported his employees and teammates throughout his career.

Dick was a tireless leader who really did ‘lead from the front’ and I will always remember how much he supported my family and I.

Praying for comfort and peace to all the family as your mourn his passing.

May perpetual light shine upon his soul forever. Amen.

May Dick Rest In Peace and his family find peace and comfort. We worked side by side to maintain the infrastructure supporting the Data Center at MBNA. He was fair and respectful as we had hard decisions to make and driven to maintain 100% uptime. Your leadership and compassion for others will be missed.

I worked for Dick in the early years of my career valuing his advice and council as it enhanced my professional skills as one of his team managers. He was a manager “personified” by caring for all of his team on a personal level with no hesitation.
    Tough……………………yeah
    Supported the team……yeah
    Lead by example………..yeah
Dick always stood in the gap for his team, a true sign of a leader.

My parents taught me 2 respect and give honor where due with no expectation of a return.
Dick measured up 2 what my parents taught which added layers of respect for him & I live by the same rule….

I know the grace of God will cover Betty and the family during this difficult time and bring comfort that only He can give……..I’m a witness…….

PopPops was a man of such great honor, loyalty and respect. But when I think of all the memories I have of him, amongst many words that can define this man, two shine out over all…Love and acceptance. He accepted my daughter and I into his home and always embraced us the moment we stepped foot inside his home. He accepted anyone and everyone that showed anyone of his kids/grandkids love. Especially to those that loved his “Girlfriend” as my little one would refer to his wife, Betty. My daughter was blessed to have witnessed the love they had for each other in person. A love that is so so strong from the beginning when you first meet that one special person. But that was the blessing…HE showed everyone just how much you can continue to LOVE, no matter how many years and obstacles come your way. This is a loss that my heart hasn’t been able to accept, but if I knew PopPops well enough, I know he’s with all our loved ones crack in’ jokes and smiling from ear to ear as he continues to guide his children and grandchildren. “PopPops Girlfriend” aka Betty, Zellia and I love you oh so much and we are so very thankful that you and PopPops allowed us into your home. He is missed very much.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dick’s extensive family.

Having worked with Dick over my twenty years at MBNA/BAC, I came to know him as a trusted manager that backed his staff, but also held us to exacting performance levels. Over the years we had numerous opportunities to deal with adversity and Dick was always one who calmly managed through the situation. He was decisive in his evaluations of appropriate responses to the matter at hand but was always considerate of the input from all sides in determining our course of action. He displayed fairness and equity in his management, so rare in today’s corporate culture. Dick was one of the very few in data processing to successfully make the transition from technician to executive.

I dearly miss his leadership .

I was very saddened to learn of Dick’s passing, but heartened by the many eulogies posted by his family, friends, and colleagues. I too benefited from and enjoyed working with Dick for 20 years at Republic Bank, SSBA, and MBNA. Working with Dick through many challenges, I always appreciated his support, abilities, and calm demeanor, particularly on those 2am calls about a production issue. He was a special guy and a good friend. I hope his family finds comfort in knowing how many people loved working with Dick. RIP my dear friend.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
