CHANG, RICHARD L.
Obituary
On July 3, 2021 Richard Chang joined Jesus in heaven along with his recent departed brother Rupert Chang Jr. He was born October 30, 1962 to Rupert and Janet Chang in Jamaica. At the age of 15, Richard came to the US and graduated from high school in Miami Florida. After a brief time in New York, he joined the Air Force. During his 6 year service, he met his bride Cheryl. They were married after only three weeks of dating and stayed together for 38 years till his death on July 3. Richard is survived by his three children Crystal (husband Doug), Chel (husband Dorian), and Richy (wife Amanda). He is survived by 7 grandbabies with one on the way: Carlyle, Aaliyah, Hayden, Layla, Haylee, Jack, Ally, and Baby Girl Chang to come. He is survived by his sisters June, Janice, Jackie, and Lisa. Richard was the protector of our family. He worried and cared so much for us, which came with stress and burdens at times. He was a stern father but filled with so much love and guidance. He could be disciplining you then turn around and make you laugh with his goofy faces and funny sense of humor. Richard’s trials and obstacles through life are a testimony to God’s favor and how we all have a purpose in this world. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. You heard me say to you, “I am going away, and I will come to you.” If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. -John 14: 27-28
