Riddle, Edgar "Gene" Eugene
Obituary
Edgar Eugene “Gene” Riddle passed from this life July 19, 2021, at his home in Little Elm, Texas. He was born August 20, 1943, in Talihina, Oklahoma, to D. A. Riddle and Frances Mardell Messick Riddle. He was a member of the Choctaw nation. Gene graduated from Bennington High School and served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. As a young adult, he worked on a Ford Motor Company assembly line where he had time to question his priorities and begin his search for truth, understanding, and the best way to live life. Education, meditation and contemplation became his life-long pursuit, and he was compelled to share his philosophy with his friends, family and any others who were interested. He was the first in his family to pursue higher education earning a degree in marketing from the University of North Texas. During his time at the university, he pursued a variety of work including mobile home sales and iron work. After graduation, he designed and built his first home, opened a successful heating and air conditioning business, and later a computer repair shop. He was passionate about seeking knowledge, studying music, and sharing those passions with his family. He is survived by his wife, Norma; daughter Tonya Belew and husband Sean; stepdaughters Sabrina Hall and husband Todd, and Jeannine Buscher and husband Jeff; grandson Nathan Belew and wife Charlotte; grandsons Jackson Buscher and Alex Hall and granddaughter Anjolie Hall; great-granddaughter Riverlynn Belew; sister Jeanie Hall; brother Bobby Riddle and wife Paula; sisters-in-law Sheila Riddle and Loretta Riddle; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death are his parents, brother D. A. Riddle Jr., Sister Linnie Toles, and brother Larry Riddle. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on July 31, 2021, beginning at 10:00 am, at the Old Church Pavilion in Bennington, Oklahoma. Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.

Condolences on Gene’s passing. My his memories last you all a lifetime.
Gene was such a special friend, loyal and creative. He was a thinker and our conversations made me a better thinker. I loved making music with him and talking late into the night with Norma and him. He will be greatly missed, but he left us with his wonderful and beautiful daughter, Tonya. She always was and continues to be a delight. We miss you, Gene. My heart and prayers go out to all those lives he touched and left behind.
Many will miss my favorite uncle and his wisdom ❤️
