Reece, Rex G.
Obituary
Rex Glenn Reece, age 56, walked with grace toward his heavenly home on August 14, 2013. Rex’s unwavering faith in Christ was inspired by the teachings of Jesus and touched the lives of those he met. He never wavered in his love for our Lord. He attended the Big Flat Assembly of God Church and he remained a faithful servant throughout his life. Rex was a mad scientist at heart, with varied interests and expansive knowledge about a wide range of topics. He was a graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Arkansas and received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from University of Texas at Arlington. His love of learning ultimately led to a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering. Rex loved his family. He had a wonderful and sharp wit and an easy smile. He was a selfless and giving person to friends, family, and strangers alike. His sparkling, blue eyes spoke volumes of his kind heart. At the same time, he never met a stranger with whom he couldn’t have a conversation. Rex loved life in spite of a prolonged illness, which he valiantly battled for three-and-a-half years. Rex was welcomed to his eternal home by his parents, Nello and Mary Reece, sister Patricia, brothers, Richard and Robert, and numerous extended family members. He is survived by the love of his life, Susan, his daughter Jessica, his new-found god-daughter, Xue, and his sisters LaWayne (Larry) and Lindsey of Springfield MO, Nina (Robert) of Harriett AR, and brothers Roger (Pamela) of Daingerfield TX, Michael (Marla) of Big Flat AR, and many other relatives and friends who love and miss him. A celebration of Rex’s life will be held on August 17, 2013 at Aria Funeral Home, Preston Road, Dallas, Texas at 1:00 PM. Donations in Rex’s honor may be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252, 214-306-6700.

Rex, you were always the perfect big brother. I am having such a difficult time with you leaving me. I miss you & look forward to our meeting in heaven.
It is so unbelievable that you have gone on home to mama and daddy but I know that you are so much happier now. Please know that you will be always remembered and live on through our hearts and memories. Love ya and miss you beyond words.
I had the honor of knowing Rex since we were children growing up. He was always a very kind and gentle soul. Loved by family and friends alike and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Really sad news, I had the honor of working with Rex. He was one of the most kind and compassionate people I’ve known, and the only person I know who had a homemade super computer. You will be missed my friend.

I worked with Rex many years ago at Voice Control Systems. My condolences to family and friends for his early passing.
Rex,
Our family will miss you and your wonderful sense of humor! You have left the world a sweeter, more intelligent, funnier, better place. Sending love and warm hugs to your loved ones who are missing you so deeply. Blessings.
We only had the privilege of meeting Rex once, on their last trip to Princeton. He was such a nice fellow – and was the light in Sue’s eyes. It’s such a blessing to know that he is whole again, resting in our Heavenly Father’s arms.
I met Rex in 1998, and became best of friends. I always knew he had a heart of gold. He was a very caring loving and gentle man. He worked around the clock. We took a couple of trips to Mexico where I got to see a relaxed stress free man. I would let him take his laptop or any kinds of books just a carefree trip. We met at ATI, he was my teacher. I always tried my best and he saw that. I couldn’t begin to tell you how awesome he was and that I admired him always just cause he was such a good hearted person. He was a needle in a haystack. You don’t find people like him. When I got the news my eyes filled with tears and mind inundated with memories of him. He is with the our Heavenly Father and I will see him when it’s my turn. My prayers go out everyone that mourns him.
