Neuzil, Carl Donald

January 16, 1955 - September 7, 2021

Carl Donald Neuzil was born on January 16, 1955 in Iowa City, Iowa and passed away on September 7, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Carl was raised in a humble farming family where he learned the value of hard work, persistence, and self belief. These values served as a driving force throughout his life and, along with his strong conservative values, led to a successful business career.

Carl grew up watching airplanes on the farm, inspiring a lifelong love of aviation. He became a pilot in 1979 and continued flying throughout his life. His 50+ years of flying kindled a desire to mentor others, and Carl served in many leadership positions with non-profits to encourage youth. In addition to aviation, he greatly enjoyed antique cars, motorcycles, guns, hunting, camping, and all types of outdoor activities.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and JoAnne Neuzil, his infant sister, Mary Jo, and his father in law, Curtis Lindell. He is survived by his wife Darci Neuzil; children Nicole Neuzil, Keaton Dunker, Carley Neuzil (Mike), and Kelsey Lopez (William); siblings Harold Neuzil , James Neuzil, Catherine Kilbane, John Neuzil, Paula Piper, Amie Rockafellow, Eddie Neuzil, Anthony Neuzil, numerous nieces and nephews, mother in law, Jean Lindell; and his faithful and loyal dog, Max.

Carl was an outgoing, good natured person that never met a stranger. But to those that were closest to him, he will always be remembered for his sense of humor, character, strength, courage, compassion, gentle kindness, and devotion to his family.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Today the blue skies and the open roads are his.

Carl and I the older him next, always together. We were always put together as alter boys, same size and blond. As on the alter worked together on most everything. We seen most things the same, but respected when not. The miles apart didn’t matter, we still talked and loved each other. Carl, I miss you! Love always 💖 Harold
