Mullenix, Patricia B.
Obituary
Patricia Belle Padden Mullenix was born on May 17, 1930 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Thomas Perry and Hope Hamilton Padden. She passed away on September 21, 2013.
Pat spent her early years with her loving parents in Rodessa, LA where she learned the gift of nurturing and grace. After the death of her beloved father, Pat moved to Vicksburg, MS where she attended and graduated from All Saints Episcopal School. She also studied at Stephens College in Columbia, MO and Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. Pat met the love of her life, Louis Wayne Mullenix, while attending Centenary College during an accent & French class and the two married at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Shreveport, LA.
Together Pat and Louis blessed this world with three children; Hope, Lucy and Tom who later gave them seven grandchildren and one great grandchild to love and cherish. Pat adored her family will always be remembered as a caring, loving mother and grandmother to all.
Pat is survived by her husband of over 56 years, Louis Wayne Mullenix of Dallas; her children, Hope Pete and husband, Clint of Raleigh, North Carolina; Lucy Rankin of Boerne, Texas and Tom Mullenix and wife, Robin of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren, Andrew Pete, Charlotte Pete, Woody Gordon, Hailey Rankin, Hunter Rankin, Dylan Mullenix and Dayani Mullenix; one great granddaughter, Ellye Belle Gordon; brother, Ray Padden of Houston and nephew, Perry Padden.
Pat was a long-time, devoted member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Dallas. Both Pat and her husband lovingly sacrificed time and effort to reviving the church’s EYC youth group. They strongly believed in the church’s youth and, knowing they were the future of the church, they volunteered many hours to transportation for various youth group events, improving and helping in the Good Shepherd Episcopal School, and were instrumental in extending the school beyond elementary grades to include middle school students.
Pat’s heart was always overflowing with compassion and she was determined to shower love on all of God’s creations. She never met a critter in need, not a single stray or lost creature, that she wouldn’t help with shelter, kindness and medical care. They responded to her love and affection in the only unique ways they knew to give gratitude.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, September 25 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church 11122 Midway Road, Dallas, Texas 75229. Patricia will be laid to rest at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Operation Kindness, Dallas (www.operationkindness.org).

Hope, Lucy and Tom – I was so sad to hear of the death of your beautiful mother. She’s been coming to Little River – she and Raymond – for as long as I remember. My mom, Jane Gregory, was so sorry to hear about this, to, and sends her prayers and thoughts to you all. God Bless you all. Norma Gregory Carey and all the Gregory clan.
Dear Mr. Mullenix,
So sorry to hear of the passing of Pat. We will keep you in our prayers, asking the Lord to comfort you and give you his perfect peace. Love,
What a lovely memorial service for a wonderful woman. I will always have such warm and fond memories of Pat & Louis = my parents down the street. She was such a animal lover. When Tim & I were married it was Pat who kept our dog Jody when went on our honeymoon. We knew he was in good hands.
We know of the loss of our love ones. My first memory of the Mullinex’s was the week of your wedding of Hope & Clint. (my brother). That was such a fun time. Hope you were so welcome into our large family. I remember you & Prince Andrew coming to visit us while in Australia? Our prayers are with you All. I will light a candle for the Mullinex. Lynn
