David Albert McDowell was born August 26, 1958 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Emmitt A. and Patsy Lewis McDowell. Albert passed away after a short but courageous battle with cancer on October 14, 2013 at home in Lewisville. He was a 1976 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School and attended LSUS. Albert spent his working years in health care at Roche Biomedical in Shreveport. LA, ProPath in Dallas, Texas, and most recently Medfusion Clinical Labs in Lewisville, Texas. Albert loved life and shared this with others through his giving spirit. His passions for working in the garden and refinishing antique furniture and clocks will be enjoyed by many for years to come. Albert was preceded in death by his father, Emmitt A. McDowell, and his grandparents, Harry G. and Mertie McDowell and John D. and Mary Belle Dunn. He is survived by his partner, James Fletcher and son Caleb Fletcher of Lewisville, his very best friend, Elizabeth Shaw of Alexandria, Virginia, close friend Dr. Jeff Robertson of DeSoto, the Fletcher family, and a host of cherished friends and coworkers. A memorial celebration to honor Albert’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, October 18, 2013 at ARIA Memorial Chapel in Dallas, Texas. I wanted to express my sincere sympathies to James and Albert's family. I worked with Albert on occasion and he was a vibrant wonderful man full of life and zest. Always joking and cutting up. A real nice gentleman.. It is my prayer that you are comforted by the many memories you treasure.
