Beckman, Marilyn G.
Obituary
Marilyn Gertrude Lotz-Shute (Beckman), 75, of Dallas, TX, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2013 with her family close by her side. She was born to the late Raymond and Gertrude Lotz, in Paterson, NJ, on December 11, 1937. Marilyn graduated from Passaic Collegiate School in 1955. In 1956, she completed the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in New Jersey, followed by receiving her Associates Degree from Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania in 1957. In 1957, she was wed to E. Alan Shute. She and Al had four children, who were raised primarily in Smoke Rise, NJ. In 1981, Marilyn, Al, and family moved to Dallas, TX, where Marilyn spent the fair majority of the remainder of her life. Marilyn was Christened in the Episcopal Church as an a infant and later in her life made a profession of faith in Christ and was baptized. Marilyn was preceded in death by E. Alan Shute, the father of her children. She is survived by her children: Deborah Graham of Tarzana, CA, Alan Shute of Dallas, TX, John Shute of Dallas, TX, Sandra Thibodeaux and son in law Barnabas Thibodeaux of Lewisville, TX. She will also be deeply missed by her eight grandchildren for whom she had deep affection: Rachel, Sarah, Kayla, Jacob, Andrew, Benjamin, Jordan, and John Michael. It is also of importance to express that Daisy, her grand dog, will be greatly diminished by her absence. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Premier Healthcare, Plano Medical Center, and the Heart to Heart hospice for their loving kindness to our mom. We trust that mom has discarded her sorrows and her suffering body and has ascended to an ecstatic reunion with those who lovingly await her in eternity. Her infectious humor and gentle spirit will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the local ASPCA. We miss you already mom – but we rest in the promise of our Savior that we’ll see you again in Paradise. I have so many memories of Marilyn and I popping our children off at each other’s homes in Smoke Rise. We shared many happy years as close neighbors. I hope you at peace, girlfriend.
