Obituary
Linda Corder, 70 years young, died at son’s house in Dallas, TX on November 20, 2013. She was born September 8, 1943 in Humboldt, IA to Gilbert Everett Merris & Agnes Louise Olson. She graduated from high school in Humboldt, IA in 1961.
Linda married Mark Scott Adams in 1964 and Carl Ray Corder, Sr. in 1971. She traveled the world visiting Europe, Taiwan, Panama, and other destinations throughout her life and had many hobbies including, knitting, painting and cooking.
Primarily a housewife, but worked as a bookkeeper at various times throughout her life, and donated her time in later life to volunteer work at Hope for the Hungry.
Linda is survived by Brother John Merris of Austin, Pat Merris of Chicago, Her Daughter Cyndi Merris of Colorado, Cathleen Merris of Chicago, Son Carl Corder of Dallas, 3 Grand Children Nicholas, Brianna, and Charisma.
Comfort had stayed home all day and took care of Mom, she did her nails, and made sure she was comfortable. In the morning, she had breathing difficulty, and Comfort had the nurse come out. They took care of mom, and everything was good, until about 8:00 pm when Comfort called Carl that he needed to come home soon, as the breathing had changed again. Carl made it home about 8:35 pm, Comfort and Carl held moms hands, and expressed their love of her, as she slipped away, within 10 minutes of Carl’s arrival. Linda passed away peacefully in the hands of her son and his wife Comfort at their house in Dallas, TX on at 8:45pm.
