You were such a good friend and I wil always remember all of our conversations and game night with much fondness. I will also always remember the looks of excitement on kids faces at the comic conventions when you would walk through dressed as one of your many characters. Thank you for making the convention halls that much more enjoyable.

I had the pleasure of knowing Chris because of his membership to my group, the 1701st Fleet. While I did not get to know him as well as I wished that I had, I can say that he was an exceptional costumer, and an inspiration to many in our community.

Our grief and loss is small, compared to what his family must be experiencing. Our sincerest condolences go out to those who knew and cared for him the most, and may he find peace.

Christopher, you are finally free of the pain and burden of the diabetes that has plagued your life for several years. I am so glad you are free of this awful disease and are able to soar into the heavens unchained. I know you would not want us to hurt and grieve of your passing but the biggest joy of my life was suddenly taken from me without warning. I will miss you so much. You have made such an impact on so many lives and brought joy to so many children. I will forever miss your wit, your comebacks, but most of all your love that you you always managed to show in your own way. Our time together here on earth was cut short, but it is a small price to pay to know that you are soaring through heaven with no chains to bound you. You will always be my “bud” and will forever have a place in my heart and in my soul. I continue to be amazed at the fine young man you had become and will forever hold dear the last day we spent together. Son, I cherise the day we will be reunited and I look forward to being with you again. Rest in Peace my dear son. I will always love you.

Christopher, my son, it has been one long agonizing year since you left our side. Words cannot fully explain the emptiness my heart feels. Although you are in my heart and mind every waking moment of every day, not being able to see you, or hear your voice is sometimes unbearable. To know that I have to live out my life before we can be together again is so hard to come to grips with. Everything would have been so much better if God would have taken me instead of you. He had the perfect time and opportunity just two weeks prior while I was in Surgery. I would have gladly given my life so that you could live yours. Some days I am very angry at God that he chose to take you and not me. You were too young to be taken. You had reached a very happy time in your life, then without warning you were gone. Never in my life will I ever endure a more difficult day as that day one year ago. Life is so empty without you. Days out on the boat were not the same, the 4th of July fireworks shows at the lake and you helping me clean up the boat after a fun weekend on the lake. Deb and I and your mother miss you so much. Your loss has taken a toll on all of us. But I think of you soaring through the heavens life a fighter jet and it makes me smile. The rainbow that you sent to me on my birthday was the best present I have ever gotten. When I saw that double rainbow over the house I knew in my heart and mind that you were ok. I knew you were with mom and dad and you were safe and happy. I miss you son and long for the day we are together once again. Until then, I miss you and I love you.

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you!
