John H. Holland Born in Cass County, Texas Oct. 28th, 1929 to Claude and Nellie Holland His father passed away when John was 6. At a very young age, he worked various jobs to help support his mother and two sisters. He moved to Dallas at the age of 17. After living in Dallas for a few years, he enlisted in the Army and was stationed in California. He became the youngest drill sergeant at the base. He then moved to El Paso, TX. One day, he was invited to a church social at the Trinity United Methodist Church and there met Jean Marilyn Clark. They were married November 4th, 1951 and were together for 57 years until her death in 2008. He built a very successful advertising business with branches in El Paso and Dallas. He is survived by two children; Dr. Paula Holland Price of Georgetown, TX and John C. Holland of Dallas and six grandchildren; Ben Price, Rachael Price, Anna Price, John Price, Matt Holland, and Greg Holland. A memorial service will be held March 1, 2014, 11 am at First United Methodist Church Richardson 503 N. Central Expwy. Richardson, Texas 75080. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children www.tsrhc.org or to First United Methodist Church Richardson www.fumcr.com .
