Rest in Peace Mrs. Dowdy.
Marty and Vandy…I’m so sorry to hear about the death of your mother. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Sending my love to you both!
I shall always remember Mrs. Dowdy who lived across the street. She was a simple woman, married, had two sons. I think she and my mother, Mary Ann Jones, looked after each other for many years. My thoughts are with her sons, Marty and Van.
Many happy and carefree hours of my youth were spent in the Dowdy’s front yard, back yard and porches. I even remember watching the Plymouth Park fireworks from their roof. Mrs. Dowdy must have wondered about our peculiar way of getting our friends to come outside. We’d coo like a pigeon on steroids: “Coo COO!” I still have trouble believing we did that! My condolences to Marty and Van on the passing of your mother. 90 years is a good, long life.
