Obituary

Scott Stephens Davidson passed away on Monday February 10th after a long term illness. He was at his home in Dallas TX surrounded by family and loved ones. Scott was born in Dallas on May 29th 1961 the youngest son of Dorthy and Harry Davidson.  He was a dedicated family man to his fiancée, Debbie Causey  and her children Heather and Hannah.  Scott loved spending time with his girls.  He would love watching movies and eating a nice big pizza. Another love of his was snowcones, which he shared with his surrogate son Thumper, his pet dog.  One of his favorite sayings was “Hate the sin, love the sinner” which he passed on to his girls.  He was regarded as a very generous, loving, caring and humorous man.  His sense of humor will be missed. Scott began his career as a licensed public insurance adjuster in his home state of Texas. Throughout his career, Scott worked tirelessly to prepare and settle complex property damage claim matters.  He later grew his career with moves to St. Louis, Missouri and Denver, Colorado and he became a partner to Pat Bickford of Adjusters International Colorado, Inc. and served as the managing partner for their Texas operation until his death for over 20 years.   Scott was  a champion for the rights of the insured, Scott believed in providing outstanding service to his clients and helping those in need of his expertise and he was a proud member of the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters and the Texas Association of Public Insurance Adjusters. He had a reputation of  being a man of integrity. Scott’s colleagues will miss his kindness and his warmth. Undoubtedly, all who knew him will cherish the memories of his quick wit and sense of humor. The practical jokes and antics put forth by “Mr. Wonderful” and  “Mr. Handsome” will surely be missed by all. Scott is survived by his fiancée Debbie Causey, Debbie’s daughters Heather and Hannah, his four brothers, Jimmy, Hil, Billy, Jeffrey, and his dog Thumper; nieces and nephews: Alison Davidson Slaton, Bridgham & Ben Davidson. A memorial service for Scott will be held on Tuesday, February 18th at 12:30PM at the following location: Prestonwood Baptist Church Plano Campus 6801 W. Park Blvd Plano, TX 75093 It is at the corner of Midway and Park There will be a reception immediately following the service at the same location. Scott was very generous and had many favorite charities; therefore, in lieu of flowers, a donation to  a charity of your choice in his name would be very much appreciated.  Please ask for acknowledgements to be sent to: Adjusters International 17130 Dallas Parkway, Suite #210 Dallas, TX 75248 Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700

You will forever be in the hearts of those in the RHS Class of ’79! The 5 mins we spent talking at our 30th reunion, means even more now. You’re such a gentleman and loved by many. May you rest in peace. Thanks for the memories!

So sorry to hear the sad news. I first met Scotty in 1980 when he was an incredible dancer for Papagayo in Northpark. He was always so nice and full of energy. Most recently, at Lake Lewisville, enjoying his boat and socializing with friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones~

Scott and I were neighbors and good friends when we lived next door to one another (1968-1974) on Meadowcreek Drive in Dallas. His energy was boundless and he was a good friend. I have thought of him frequently over the years and we exchanged notes a few times. I deeply regret that we will not be able to reminisce about the mischief we got into as young boys. On behalf of my family, our condolences to all his family and friends.

Scottie was a great guy, my second son I called him as he resembles my own son, Bill I found him a great home through a builder friend of mine. Was shocked and saddened by his current loss as we had talked late January.

I met Scott many years ago on flight from Puerto Rico to DFW. We were sitting next to one other and struck up a relaxed conversation that lasted the entire flight. He was a very nice and warm person. We discovered that his niece is, Alison Davidson, a great friend of our daughter Kate and our family. We both felt as if we had entered the twilight zone and laughed hysterically. He was a wonderful man and will be missed by all.

I have known Sott Davidson since I was 14 years old. My sister Debbie and Scott met at Richardson High School. He has been a part of our family for so long. Personally he was a big brother to me with a big beautiful heart and a larger than life personality. He loved my sister and her daughters so incredibly much! He has shown so much love to our whole since day one! I will miss him more than I can say and will love him always!!!!!!

Scott saved Dallas taxpayers $6M by simply knocking on my door one day and offering to help. I learned that you don’t have to be a good salesperson by being aggressive. Through the next 16 years I counted on him for advice many times. Scotty and his knowledge, kindness and humor will be greatly missed.

I was blessed to be Scott’s neighbor. My favorite memory of Scott was at Christmas. Besides always bringing my dog rocky (who he loved as his own) a big bone, he would bring us over some reindeer food for the boys. We would put it out. Then Scott would come over in the middle of the night and make it look like the reindeer had been there. Scott will be deeply missed.

Scott you will be definitely missed by us. When we moved in to our new place Scott was the first person to come and greet us and welcome us to the neighborhood . He was so full of life and energy and always ready to help people. Scott also taught my dog Daphne to sit and lie down which i will never forget. We were very lucky to have known him even though for a short period of time. God bless his soul!

Scott Davidson was the best boss and I pray what he taught me and all of us prevails: People before profit, the best person to be is yourself, & “free, good advice” is not a bad phrase but a golden rule … Scott, I thank you for all the lessons, smiles, and challenges we shared. I will miss you beyond words. Rest in Peace, you deserve it.

I have worked at Adjusters International for close to 20 years (on the East Coast). In my early work years I would see Scotty 2 or 3 times a year at various conferences. He was always the life of the party, he was always pleasant, he was always fun, he was always nice to people. What a good man he was. I really liked him! Way way way too young to have left us. My sincere condolences to all of his family, friends and colleagues. He will certainly be missed.

Scotty Boo, you will always be my one and only Dad. Words cannot describe how distraught your 3 girls have been, we miss you so much! You took us in under your wing 14 years ago and raised us. Thank you for loving my mother more than anybody ever could, and thank you for always believing in me no matter the circumstances- you were my biggest fan. Thumper misses you so much, he looks for his daddy every day. I don’t understand why God took you from us because I wasn’t ready to let you go but I know you are no longer in pain. Your life was lived to the fullest, and even though it was way too short, you touched and inspired more people than you will ever know. I love you so much!!!! I am so proud to call you my Dad!

When I called Scott’s cell phone today (7/25/14) & heard someone else’s pre-recorded message my heart sank. Doing an Internet search confirmed what I feared. I met Scott in 2008 after Hurricane Ike. He helped our company with the insurance damage claim, a significant amount for our company. Scott was very, very good at interpreting the insurance policy, presenting material for the claim, & representing us. Most of all, he was a GREAT Christian person. I will truly, truly miss him. Condolences to all of the loved ones he has left on Earth. With our faith, we will see Scott again. God bless all of you.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
