Obituary
James Herbert Skene was born in Quincy, Mass on October 31, 1932 and settled with his family in Detroit, Michigan in 1942. He moved his family to Fairview, TX in August 1980. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United State Navy. James was a retired insurance damage estimator and adjuster. He traveled a lot for work from California to estimate damages for earthquakes, to Porto Rico for hurricane damages to settle in Texas for tornado damages. He was preceded in death by his parents, and in 1995 a daughter, Laurie Brady and her husband, Jim Brady. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith; daughters, Carol Killian and husband, Larry or Hawkins, Texas and Amy Montgomery and husband David Grapevine, Texas; son, Douglas Skene and wife, Tracy of Fenton, Michigan; 11 grandchildren, Benjamin, Evan, Ross, Mitchell, Christopher, William, Maylin, Seth, Nathan, Madeline, and Nora; and 2 great grandchildren, Langston and Conner. His remains will be taken home to Michigan for burial and memorial service.
