Virginia Clair Nixon Gibson October 7, 1924-March 23, 2014 Virginia was born in Brookhaven, MS to John Bedford and Mattie Barlow Nixon on October 7, 1924 and passed away on March 23, 2014. She was the youngest of six children. After graduating from high school and business school, she moved to Jackson, MS where she met and married Tom Gibson, whom she shared 43 wonderful years with until his death in 1990. Virginia and Tom moved to Dallas in 1975, where later Virginia was a dedicated employee of Ohio Casualty Insurance Company for over 20 years. She was fondly remembered by her professional peers as an extremely proficient associate who could be counted on the bring fabulous cakes and casseroles to company potluck lunches. Virginia’s fabulous Southern cooking, fun parties, and outgoing personality are unforgettable. She loved college football (especially Ole Miss and SEC teams); Dallas Cowboys; politics, and People magazine. She kept up with current events and enlivened any conversation right up until the last days of her life. Daughter, Beverly Amacker, and son Guilbert Gibson, grandchildren Camille (Brad) Francis, Brent (Emily) Amacker, Claire (James) Johnson, great grandchildren, Madeline Francis, Barrett Francis, and Rylan Johnson, survive her. Also, brother and sister in law John and Dot Gibson several nieces and nephews survive her. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5 at 2:00pm at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration 14115 Hillcrest Road, Dallas, TX 75254. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 1:00pm at Lakewood Memorial Cemetery located in Jackson, MS. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration
