Obituary

Robin Kassing
A Special Child of God

December 22,1960 – May 25, 2014

Robin Irene (Wilson) Kassing was born and raised in Peoria Heights, Illinois. After graduating as valedictorian of her high school class, she worked a variety of jobs while simultaneously earning a Marketing Degree at Eastern Illinois University in just three and a half years. She then travelled to Oklahoma City to be with her true love, Judson P. Kassing, who proposed to her on the night of her arrival.

Robin and Judson were married in the beautiful chapel at Valparaiso University in Indiana so that family and friends in the Midwest could join the celebration.

Robin began her career at The Buyers Guide selling advertisements to businesses throughout Oklahoma City. While it was a challenging start for her career, Robin approached her job with vigor and joy. In 1985, they moved to Charlotte, NC where Robin accepted a position with Belk Store Services as coordinator of printing for over 300 stores.

After the birth of their first child, Hadley, they moved to Frisco, TX to be near Judson’s family. They were blessed with two more children, Grant and Peyton, and the love of a wonderful family and tremendous friends.

In Frisco, Robin started her toughest career as a full time mom, but it was the one she loved the most. She approached it with equal energy, dedicating her life to the development of her children that she so loved; especially to their development as faithful followers of Christ.  Robin also loaned her incredible smile and efforts to many roles with the children’s schools and teams, as well as in the church and community.

Robin is survived by her husband of 30 years, Judson, and their three children, Hadley, Grant and Peyton.  They will treasure her memories until they join her again.

She is also survived by her father, Robert Wilson, of Peoria Heights, IL; brother Roger Wilson and his wife Rosann of Chicago, IL and their children, Heather, Holly and Michael; sister Paula Werman and her husband Jon of Lighthouse Point, FL, and their children, Nick, Jacob and Paige; and many other extended relatives and friends.

Robin is also well loved by Judson’s family; mother, Vanita Kassing, and his “teammates”, John, Jeff, Jay and Julie, and their incredible families.

Robin is now enjoying a reunion with her loving mother and friend, Phyllis Wilson, who passed on four years earlier, and Judson’s father, Lester Kassing, who recently joined his Savior earlier in May 2014.

Robin has always been a servant minister, showing God’s love as a wife, mother, and friend. There is little she wouldn’t take on to help others. She did everything “just so”. Christ smiled on each of us through her.

We celebrate her life, and worship our heavenly Father who graciously loaned her to us for so long, and now has her in His tender, loving care, forever.

Services will be held at Christ Church Plano, 4550 Legacy Drive, Plano, TX 75024 at 3:00 on Saturday, May 31, 2014.  Please join us in this celebration.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to assist families with adoption at josephsdreamcoat.org.

Hi Robin, You are now at peace and we will see you again one day. I remember you and your family all the years at Gardener grade school and then Judd and his family since high school. We’ll never forget you and Eric’s performance at the grade school variety show – you were so good. It was so nice meeting you, Judd and your beautiful family four years back. Our prayers are with all those you left behind and they know you will be watching over them.

Not long ago, she sent me the cutest picture of you, kenz and your other friends from grade school. We have watched you grow up and I know she was very proud of you. She was proud of all of you. . I will never forget her and I will be reminded of how wonderful she is every time I see all of you. I know this will be so hard but know you have people here to hug you, laugh with you, and cry with you. God Bless!

Judd, at times like these I find the right words are always hard to find. I have wonderful memories of Robin going back all the way to grade school. I feel so blessed to have known her. Robin has gone home to be with our Lord and she will always be with you and your family. May you feel God’s peace during this difficult time. My prayers all with all of your family.

    Jud and family,
I’m very sorry for your loss but thankful for the testimony of Robin “now enjoying a (heavenly) reunion” with her mom, your dad and others. One of my best memories of PHHS homecoming parades is (if I’m not mistaken) of Sheila Maroney and Robin dressed as clowns walking the parade route.

Jud and family- I have just learned of Robin’s passing. So,so sorry for your loss. Robin and I were each other’s “first friends,” and met at the age of 2. Our families were friends. Their were times when she and I were inseparable. Last seeing her in 1981 when my father passed away. Robin was there for me as she always was. But I moved out of state shortly after and later she moved and we lost touch. My heart is broken. Jud, you gave her the wonderful life that she was so deserving of. Seeing her mother about 15 years ago on a shopping trip, all she could do is talk about Robin and her family and how happy she was and the beautiful home you shared. I know nothing anyone says or does eases the emptiness and pain you must feel, but know that she is with the Lord now and he always takes care of his most precious angels.

"Nothing prepares you for the grief you go through when losing a child. I called this funeral home at 2:00 am broken and could barely talk. The amount of compassion and empathy they showed me immediately let me know I found the right place to cremate my son. I cannot thank them enough for their professionalism, SINCERE concern, and commitment to making sure my son was honored in the most respectful way. I hope this Funeral home values her as much as my family and I do."

"I can’t say enough about how helpful and professional Dusty Martin, the funeral director at the Aria Cremation location on NW Highway has been. From my initial call, he was kind and informative. My friend died at home while on hospice and she was picked up in about an hour after receiving the call from the hospice nurse. The person who arrived to pick her up was also very professional/respectful and allowed us to take as much time with her as we wished. When I met with Dusty the next day about arrangements, he explained the process and options available without being pushy or trying to “sell” extras. Throughout the process, he kept me informed and, for example, was careful to be certain I understood the cost of the obituary I wanted and offered some options for reducing that cost if I wished. When I stopped by for another reason and started talking about some of the problems I was having with the pictures and media I hoped to use at a memorial lunch I was planning, he not only listened patiently but offered technology advice and let me use his personal media player. I have had experience arranging cremations for four others using two other local companies, and this experience with Dusty at Aria has been by far the best one I have had."

"My Daddy’s service and our family experience at Aria Northwest Highway was truly blessed. Funeral Director Dustin Martin is the kind of person that you would like to see on a more regular basis – but in his industry – you hope to not see him that often. That being said – THANK YOU DUSTIN for your unending kindness, compassion and friendship through the process. Meeting you and discussing Dallas History, Find A Grave and my Dad’s lifelong contributions to the great City of Dallas was simply wonderful! In memory of my dad James A. Dodd, Sr. – I want to personally thank you and let you know that you made everything better in that moment. Your calling to “Be There” is spot on. Aria has a one in a million guy in you! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: God Bless You!!"
