February 20, 1944 - July 2, 2014
McAdoo, Steven Curtis Died July 2, 2014. He was a good man. Steve was born in Dallas on February 20, 1944, to Curtis and Mildred McAdoo. He graduated from Austin College. He was dedicated to his family, his friends, and his career. He considered his role in public service to be a privilege, and the best interests of Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries were always foremost. He was known as a person who was both smart and wise. He loved to cook, to build, and to travel. To have been his friend was a gift in itself. He is survived by Penny, his wife of 48 years, as well as his daughter, Melissa, son, Andrew, brother, David, sister, Mari, and their families; numerous other relatives; and a loving and loyal circle of friends. Plans for a commemoration of Steve’s life are pending. In lieu of flowers, to honor Steve, make the world a little better by cooking a good meal, creating something beautiful, or making a good decision. He would be pleased.
