Gary, I know you are reading this from heaven. You were a wonderful, concerned son to your mother, moving her to Arkansas where she could receive much better personal care, assuming you would live there the rest of your life. I remember how hard it was to accomplish this. I also remember what a wonderful father figure you were to Melanie when she needed a father figure to console her on my behalf, and then to stay close to her for the rest of your life. I too enjoyed your sincere friendship. Both Melanie and myself with we had only known of what you were going through these last months. Melanie told me about the wonderful visit she had with you here this past Christmas. She said you showed no indication to her that you were struggling then. Both Melanie and I have lost a very dear friend. We will also remember you. We do know that you are with the Lord now and that comforts us. - MACK

Gary my longtime friend we shared many laughs together and we prayed a lot together. I was able to see the Lord work a real miracle in your life and I was able to see how you influenced and touched others lives. We talked a lot of trash about the Cowboys,Rangers, and Mavs. It will never be the same. I know where you are now Marine, RIP my good friend.

Gary and I grew up in the same neighborhood in Oak Cliff. A lot of fond memories of motor cycle riding, playing football at the park, and getting into a little trouble on occasion. I miss all of it. Gary will be missed.

Thank you Gary for opening my eyes to the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ which eventually let to my being saved. Gary and I were both stationed in Okinawa in 1972 and became close friends. You were the most influential friend I had my whole life. We lost touch but thanks to Facebook reunited a few years ago. Over the years we both became quite opinionated and seemed to butt heads a bit but I will miss you much. To pass along the message you shared with me that changed my life I leave with all who see this: "Place your faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins and you will be saved!" ...so long for now my friend till we meet again in the Kingdom of Heaven...

Gary was a ray of sunshine 24/7 & his smile and loving personality will be forever missed. It was Gary who introduced me to my children's father & I'm forever thankful.

I am so shocked, I don't know what to say. It would be hard to find a nicer guy. You powered through many of life's obstacles while maintaining a great attitude and a winning smile. You will be missed my friend. Rest in Peace Gary.
