Inman (Goldrick), Patsy Rae

Patsy suddenly passed away in Dallas, Texas on August 1, 2014 from a severe stroke.  She is survived by her two sons Douglas M. Goldrick, James R. Goldrick, Jr. and daughter Pamela S. Goldrick-Williams along with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Mabel Greenwood and husbands James R. Goldrick and Charles W. Inman.  She dearly loved her pet German Schnauzer, Charlie, who was her very close companion for the past 14 years.  Charlie kept her busy and kept her moving.  She walked him throughout the day, getting lots of exercise for herself and Charlie which kept her young, healthy and vibrant!

Patsy, was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, grandma, and great grandma and a best friend.  She was married to James R. Goldrick (Jim) on June 5, 1946, where they lived in Hamilton, Ohio.
Patsy and Jim moved from Ohio to Austin in June of 1964 along with Patsy’s brother’s family Charles Greenwood, Jr. his wife Marion, who was Patsy’s lifelong best friend, and their four children Chuck, Gail, Marybeth and Ann.  Patsy and Jim moved to Dallas, in 1972 where Jim was expanding his life insurance business.  Jim passed away in 1975 at 52, leaving Patsy a widow at the very young age of 49.  Patsy remarried in 1991 to Charles W. Inman (Charlie).  She met Charlie at a singles gathering and fell in love.  Their marriage was very short due to a diagnosis of cancer that quickly took Charlie’s life.  Charlie was survived by his son Charles and his wife Martha, who alternate living in their two homes located in San Antonio and Mexico City.

Patsy enjoyed traveling, shopping, fine dining, dancing, interior decorating, painting and spending time with her family and friends.  Throughout her life she modeled, taught modeling and charm school to young adults.  She did print advertising as well as fashion shows for various department stores.  After moving to Austin Patsy became a ladies fashion buyer for upscale department stores.  She traveled to New York multiple times to select and identify upcoming trendy clothing styles to be featured in the department stores she worked for.  Her love of fashion evolved into a love for travel.  She traveled all over the world on both land and cruise vacations.  Her most favorite place was Nairobi, Kenya where she went on multiple safaris.  She loved seeing the lions, elephants and all of the other animals on these trips as well as meeting interesting people along the way.  She also particularly enjoyed being on cruises that traveled through the Panama Canal.  She traveled alone on several occasions always meeting people on the way and making many new friends.

Patsy loved life and enjoyed playing bridge, hosting cocktail parties and bringing people together through a singles club that she ran with a close friend.  She loved her grandchildren, frequently having them stay with her and taking them shopping at North Park Center.  They would go out to lunches and she would cook wonderful dinners for them.  She had a passion for reading, and loved books.  She enjoyed her new Kindle Fire which enabled her to download and read books that she purchased online.  She also loved the Cowboys, and got so nervous when she was watching them especially when they were losing.  She would bet on them losing with family members, which they often did.  She just had fun following her favorite team, whether they won or lost!!

She is survived by three children and their spouses.  Jim, Jr. is the oldest son and is married to Marianna, who live in Austin, they have four children, Jimmy, Elliot, Hillary, and Gregory Ann from a previous marriage to Nita.  Jimmy and Vanessa live in Austin and have two children, Lilliana, and Tristan.  Elliot and Gregory live in Dallas and Venus respectively. Doug has a daughter, Amanda, who works with him in his business.  Doug is married to Elaine and they live in Dallas.  Elaine has a daughter, Melissa, and great grandbaby Audrey, who live in North Richland Hills.  Pam is married to Mike Williams and their kids are two puppies and a kitty and they live in Austin.

We have truly been a blessed family!  Our mom lived a long fabulous life with lots of wonderful friends.  She moved into The Tradition an independent apartment living community last year meeting new friends and enjoying their fine food without the worry of having to cook for herself.  She resumed her painting hobby while at The Tradition and had her easel and paints always nearby and had a beautiful work in progress as you entered her residence.  She enjoyed the new North Dallas neighborhood she lived in with plenty of shopping and fine restaurants nearby.  But she still enjoyed spending time in the Preston Center area where she lived for many years.

The family appreciates all of the love and support from our many friends.
