Obituary
BUSH – James S. passed on to Heaven August 17, 2014 at the age of 76 from complications resulting from congestive heart failure. His loving family provided constant support and comfort during his illness and as his days drew to a close. Born in Sparta, IL in 1937, Jim graduated from New Athens High School in New Athens, IL, served in the U.S. Navy, and attended what was then known as McKendree College in Lebanon, IL. Jim found his true calling in sales, going on to spend 40 years in automobile sales at Auffenberg Ford/ Lincoln Mercury and Jack Schmitt Chevrolet, both in Belleville, IL, and then as a partner in automobile dealerships in Indianola, MS before retiring in 2000.
He is survived by 4 children; Caren R. (David) Cerutti of Dallas, TX, James D. (Chieko) Bush of Flower Mound, TX, Jacqueline S. Bush (John Dugenske) of Chicago, IL, and Thomas A. Bush of Belleville, IL, 5 grandchildren; Margaret R. Cerutti, Caroline A. Bush, Elizabeth R. Cerutti, Anders B. Dugenske, and Josie V. Dugenske, 8 sisters and 2 brothers; Jennie (John) Walker of WI, Geneva Davis of MO, Marjorie F. Bradberry (Mel Richards) of FL, Della M. (Lee) Paul of IL, Sharon R. (George) Torres of IL, Mary A. (Jim) Becker of IL, Nancy L. (Don) Waldron of OH, Joan C. (Malcolm) Sims of MO, Orville P. Bush of IL, and Paul A. Bush of IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lela R., nee Morlino, Bush of Leland, MS, whom he married in 1997, his parents; Orville D. and Olga F., nee Frazier, Bush, 2 sisters and 4 brothers; Lois J. Bush, Lucille J. (Ted) Jockenhoefer, Samuel Bush, Michael J. Bush, Homer E. Bush, and Marshall D. (Joyce) Bush.
Memorials may be made to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, 442 South De Mazenod Drive, Belleville, IL 62223 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
A memorial Mass service will be held at 9:30a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church located within the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows at 9572 Church Circle Drive, Belleville, IL 62223. Father Tom Ovalle, OMI will officiate.
