Garza, Priscilla A.
Priscilla Ann Garza “Prissy”, 32 , of Dallas, TX, was granted her angel wings on August 21, 2014, from a life-long battle with cerebral palsy. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Priscilla had touched in so many ways throughout her short, yet very memorable life.Priscilla was born in Dallas on September 23, 1981. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School with honors in May of 2000. She was involved in the Special Olympics and received several medals in different categories including wheelchair racing. Her life would seem short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity. We cherished her and feel blessed to have been part of her life. That huge smile, and her strong spirit brought so much joy to her family.Although she was in a wheelchair , she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life.  She loved to sing and dance. She could spend hours listening to her Tejano music. Her idol was Selena and she knew every one of her songs by heart. She also was a lover of telenovelas, romantic comedies and karaoke.Priscilla is survived by her mother Diana Garza; sister Vanessa Gray; niece Penelope Gray; and other family and friends.

To family of Priscilla Garza: I did not have the privilege of personally knowing your beloved Priscilla, but I too have lost a niece I raised as my own at a young age, and I know and understand your pain. Please accept my deepest condolences and know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. In times like this it is soothing to read Scriptures that bring us comfort and help us cope in the days ahead. One of the many found in the Bible is an account familiar to many of us. It's found in John 11:11-14, where Jesus referred to his dear friend Lazarus as merely resting in sleep although he had been dead 4 days. He said he was on his way to awaken him from that sleep. Do find comfort in knowing that your dear Priscilla is merely resting in sleep, not conscious of anything at all. It's as when we are put to sleep before surgery. When we wake up, we remember absolutely nothing! And just like Jesus resurrected Lazarus, he will also resurrect Priscilla. Job 14: 14&15 says that God "yearns" to wake us up from such sleep. If you download the website, you can download a Bible in the language of your choice, all free to you. This way each family member can carry his/her personal copy and read the Bible wherever you go and at your convenience. Sincerely, Yolanda E. Ramirez
