De La Rosa, Florentino
Obituary
On the day of his birth, November 10, 1965, he was christened Florentino De La Rosa. To his friends and family, he was just Tino, a serious man who brightened the lives of friends and family with his smile and his grace. Tino was a Christian who was willing to share the good news of the gospel to anyone who would listen.
Tino had a zest for life, a love of adventure and was always quick with a smile and a ready joke. He accepted who he was. And, he never took anything for granted. Tino’s unshakable strength of spirit guided his family surely and securely. He was a husband who adored the wife who became his soul mate. During their 30-year marriage, Tino and Olivia (Molina) laid a foundation of hope and strength of character for their children. Together they provided their children a place to grow up, to laugh and cry, to dream and strive for success on their on terms.
Tino’s character shone bright in other aspects of life. He was a professional mechanic, an avid gun collector, hunter, a weekend carpenter and an adventurous biker. He was a member of motorcycling club. His greatest joy was taking to the open road on his Chopper.
Florentino De La Rosa departed this life September 9, 2014. He was preceded in death by two sets of grandparents, Domingo and Maria De Jesus Godines, and Guadalupe De La Rosa and Felicidad Trevino a nephew, Gabriel Delarosa, Jr. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Olivia; four children: Conan (Cecilia) De La Rosa, Linzie (Ricky) De La Rosa, Kelly (Jesse) Nieto, and Kayla (Luis) De La Rosa; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Frank (Rosie), Carlos (Ron), Jaime, and Gabriel (Amanda) De La Rosa, Sr., his parents Frank Sr. and Ramona De La Rosa and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
His memory will live on forever in the broken hearts of the loved ones he left to mourn his death.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014, at Abundant Life Church, 3829 S. Carrier Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75052 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
