Gillman, Van Dallas
Obituary
Van Dallas Gillman, age 61, of Dallas, Texas passed away on September 16, 2014.
“He’s the sweetest man I have ever known” is something many people say about Van Gillman. He had a kind heart and a gentle spirit and was loved by many. Van was a special breed of person that had the ability to make every person feel like they were the most special. His smile and laugh would light up a room. Mostly modest (he knew he was a handsome fella with a truly remarkable head of hair), he never realized how very special he was but those who knew and loved him certainly did.
We will be celebrating Van’s life at Haggard Park Gazebo (901 W 15th St., Plano) on Saturday, September 20th from 11am – 1pm. If Van touched your life in any way, please join us! Come with stories and remembrances to share. Laughter is required.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Wounded Warriors in Van’s honor: https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/individual-fundraising/vangillman/ or Alcoholics Anonymous

So sorry to hear of your loss.
My prayers are with your family
I met Van many years ago playing Bingo. He was extremely friendly and always a gentleman. Van has left us way too soon, as the saying goes” the good die young” Van was truly one of “the good guys”!! With love and prayers.
Bren
No words can express my loss, lots of great and fun memories with brother. Yes Bren in this case the good died too young. Always a gentle man. Love you Van, sister Val
I just heard this news. To Valorie and the Gillman family, Janise and I offer our deepest condolences. I went to Jr. High school with Van in Marion Iowa. Van played quarterback on our football team. He was a natural athlete. But, what I remember most is his natural ability to lead at such a young age. If he didn’t like the play that was called by our coaches, he would improvise. Van would literally scratch out a play in the dirt that was exactly what should have been called in the first place! I don’t know too many 14 year olds that had the kind of moxie that Van had. Peace and love; Rodger and Jan
i worked side by side withVan for many years. Matter a fact my whole family did. I have to say one of my all time favorite people. We had so much fun working all together. Not many can say that. He will be truly missed. I will always love him.
I just found out about Van’s passing. I had cut Van’s hair for almost 20 years. He was a very nice man. We always had a good laugh when ever he came to see me and would always call me “dear” or “sweetie”. He will be truly missed but I know he’s in Heaven now and we will all see him again one day.
