J.W. graduated from Carthage High School in 1953. He then had a long career working for his father, O.L. Holt, in his Construction Company. He was also employed by United Gas Pipeline Company for many years. Mr. Holt was a proud member of Southside Baptist Church in Carthage.

Kip, Please know that your in my thoughts and prayers.
My deepest sympathies to the family. I have know. Brother jimmy for many years, he was like a brother to me. You will be greatly missed. I will always remember all the fun times we shared together.
I really miss Bro. Jimmy. I recently moved out of state and was unable to attend his service. Bro. Jimmy was my training union teacher when I was in high school. He and his wife were very involved with the youth at Southside Baptist Church for many years. I have so many fond memories of him. I loved to laugh and joke with him. He would always take the time to talk to me throughout the years. He was a hard worker who helped to build our present church building, and he went on a few mission trips where he used his construction talents in service to the Lord. Bro. Jimmy was a fine man, and I was blessed to know him for many years as a teacher, Christian brother, and friend. Kip, please accept my sincerest sympathies and know that your father was loved by me.
I’m so sorry for your loss, Kip. Even though it’s been years since we all lived on Halsey street, I still think of you when I come down the street and it will always be the “Holt’s” house. God Bless you.
