Obituary
George William Moore, of Plano, Texas, passed away surrounded by family on November 17th 2014 at the age of 70. George was born to the late Georgia Otto Moore and Jewell Jackson Moore on January 18th 1944 in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in College Park, GA where he excelled in sports and academics. He graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelors in Business. George devoted his life to family and friends. He was successful in his career and was admired for his work ethic. When he wasn’t at work, George was known to have a love of golf, football (Dallas Cowboys) and poker. He had a great sense of humor, frequently used unique expressions, and always had a funny story to tell. What he enjoyed most was traveling with his family; mostly his trips to Europe with his wife Dana where they loved to explore London together. George loved to be with his family; he especially enjoyed being a grandfather to his 15 Grandchildren.
George is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Dana Moore, whom he married in Dallas, Texas on August 28th 1987. He is also survived by his children: Kevin Mantle and wife, Lisa Mantle; Emmett Mantle; Beth Farrell and husband, Brian Farrell; Kelli Walston and husband, Bryan Walston; Melissa Gordon and her husband, Adrian Gordon; George W. Moore Jr. and his wife, Jackie Moore; and Whitney Moore. George’s surviving grandchildren are: Sarah Mantle, Elizabeth Mantle, Kevin Mantle Jr., Ryan Mantle, Matthew Mantle, Nathan Mantle, Georgia Farrell, Reagan Walston, Hank Walston, Brittney Love, Victoria Gordon, Miles Gordon, Kourtney Holleman, Devyn Moore and Preston Moore. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Lawrence Moore, as well as many very close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-8pm on Saturday, November 22nd 2014 at Winfrey Point on White Rock Lake 950 E Lawther Drive, Dallas, TX 75218.
