In Loving Memory of Kennedy Otieno Okumu
August 5, 1986 – November 21, 2014
Beloved father, family and friend to many, Kennedy passed away at Mama Lucy Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. The son of Grace A. Ojwang and Joel N. Okumu; father to Paxton and Shamandra.
He graduated high school from Usenge High School and then enrolled into Kenya Polytechnic where he studied IT before immigrating to the Dallas, Texas area. He worked at Sunrise Senior Living before joining the United States Marine Corp. He went to San Diego, California where he successfully completed Basic Combat Training before transferring to Florida where he again successfully completed his Advanced Initial Training as an Aviation Mechanic.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday evening, December 12, 2014 at ARIA Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road, Dallas, Texas 75252. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Hunters Glen Baptist Church 4001 Custer Road, Plano, Texas 75023. A graveside service will be held the same day at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas at 1:00 P.M.
