Massey, Catherine C.
Obituary
A Memorial Service will be held for Catherine Kellar Massey on Saturday, February 7th at 11:00 AM at Strickland Funeral Home, 530 Highway 36 S., Caldwell, TX, PH: 979-567-1900.
The Family will be available from 10:30 a.m. prior to the service to receive friends and family. Mrs. Massey died on January 14, 2015 in Dallas, Texas.
Interment will be at Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell immediately following the Memorial. Seating in a covered pavilion will be provided for those who wish to attend.
Catherine was born December 10, 1927 to Paul Calvin Kellar and Ida Viola (Geick) Kellar in Chriesman, TX.
Catherine never met a stranger and all who met her felt comfortable in her presence. Catherine grew up in Chriesman and attended Caldwell High School. She and her husband Ray moved the family to Oklahoma City in 1958. Catherine was a faithful school volunteer and PTA member during her daughter’s school years. Her family was her priority but she also worked as a secretary and office manager for many years for Pyramid Life Insurance Company and later for Globe Life in Oklahoma City. Catherine much preferred the outdoors and gardening over household chores. She loved to read cook books and was an excellent cook of good Southern dishes. She and Ray spent many hours at their small farm outside Caldwell and greatly enjoyed their garden throughout their retirement years. In later years she cared for her husband Ray until he passed in 2006. Catherine was 20-year breast cancer survivor. She will be remembered for her great style, generous heart, driving a T-Bird, and the fragrance of Estee Lauder Youth Dew. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, caretaker, and much more. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Catherine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and John Lundquist; granddaughter Katherine Lundquist and her husband Justin Case along with their son, Everett Case; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gilley and Nancy Kellar, Julius and Pat Kellar, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray Massey, sister Ellen Wilhelm and brother John Charles Kellar.

Dear Judy, John and Katie,
you will never stop missing Catherine, but you know she lived a full life. What a gift!
love & sympathy, Jody & Tom
We only met this gentlewoman in her later years. What a dear lady she was as she accompanied Judy at lunch. I treasure the visits we had with her and Judy from our nearby table. May fond memories give you comfort in knowing she enjoyed being with you in her final years.
Mrs. Massey was a wonderful customer. She was always a pleasure to talk to. Her Crew Leader brought smiles to our faces reminiscing about her. He said she always wore red lipstick and was always a lady. She had a smile on her face and you could hear it when she called the office, never demanding. She will be missed. Judy and family thank you for sharing her with us! You and your family will be in our prayers.
