Hagler, Ailene J.
Obituary
Ailene J. Hagler, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at her home on January 16, 2015, surrounded by family, one day after celebrated her 89th birthday. She was a constant source of joy to everyone and always had a smile for you, no matter how much pain she was in or how long she had known you.
Ailene June Woodring was born in Wichita, Kansas, on January 15, 1926, the 2nd of 3 daughters to Fred and Bertha Jewell (Bennett) Woodring. She was especially close to her sisters, Betty and Dixie, and spent many enjoyable years with them, growing up in Wichita, Concordia and Salina, Kansas. It was there, in school, she met the great love of her life, Harry Robert “Bob” Hagler, to whom she would marry on October 14, 1945, and spend the next 69 years visiting many places, raising her family, and enjoying everything around her. Ailene and Bob travelled and lived throughout the country; in Indiana, Kansas, New Mexico, California and, finally, Texas. Together they raised three children; Michael Robert “Mike” Hagler, Janette Lee “Jan” Hagler Cole, and Douglas Allen “Doug” Hagler, and she spent many years being a capable Cub Scout and campfire girl leader, school parent, and, most of all, friend to all who knew her. In later years, she and Bob travelled the country in their RV, where they enjoyed seeing the great sights of the country including Death Valley, Mojave, Yellowstone, and many other great parks. No matter where she was, Ailene made friends with anyone she came in contact with and was beloved by all.
Ailene is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jewell Woodring, and her son, Mike. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Bob, daughter, Jan (Charlie) Cole, Doug (Penny) Hagler, grandchildren, Candace (Chris) Andrew, Mindy (Tim Cook) Hagler, Ashley (Kevin Green) Hagler, Lindsay Hagler, Grace Hagler, and six great-grandchildren, Alexis, Hailey, Emeri, Kyndall, Kash, and Mason, all of Dallas, TX, her two sisters, Betty Scheibler of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Dixie Pakaki of Salina, Kansas, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends who will always cherish their relationship with Ailene.
