MY FRIEND JERRY
When the light in your eyes
Began to slowly fade
I cannot lie, I was afraid,
I did not want for you to leave
I tried in vain
Not to believe
That you would be gone.
But now I can put a smile upon my face
For I know that your soul is at peace.
And as I stand here at the grave of my friend
I think
Even though you are deceased
It is not the end.
