Dearest Mrs. Bartel, Carol, Keith, Barb, Rick, Pat, "my Jack", Tom and all of the beloved Grandchildren, Please know that all of you will remain in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. As you know your Parents and Grandparents made such a "handsome" couple. The Bartels were brilliant, but never boastful. They always believed in giving back to their community through the form of volunteer work and education. Mr. Bartel was always the consummate gentleman. He always complimented me and made me feel like "queen for a day", literally. I can just cry thinking of the tender moments I was able to share with Mr.and Mrs. Bartel, however brief through the years.i can still be reminiscient of talking with your remarkable Parents in the corner of your living room. Mr. Bartel was moved to tears talking about Brad's courageous challenge that he faced as a little boy. Too, your ever protective Grandpa was genuinely concerned about his beautiful Grand daughters safety as they grew older.i was well blessed recently to be in line with your Parents at Dr. L.P. Johnson's wake service. I recognized your Mother's gentle laugh and your Dad's voice. Once again, I was showered with praises. It is not often in life that one can grow up with a best friend and be so embraced by their Parents. God love you, I do.XX Lucy
