Cassimatis, Michael C.

Michael Christopher Cassimatis passed away at home in Garland, Tx on February 24, 2015 at the age of 49.  Mike was born December 29, 1965 to John and Elizabeth Cassimatis. He has five siblings: David, Karen, Mark, Suzanne, and Nicole. On November 20, 1994 Mike married Billie in Las Vegas, NV. They have 5 sons together Christopher 19, Alexander 18, Titus 13, Apollo 12, and Caesar 9. Mike and Billie have lived in Garland for their 20 yrs of marriage.

Mike had a landscaping business for over 25yrs. He loved all sports, scuba diving, and food. In 2003 Mike was diagnosed with MS. In 2009 Mike’s disease had progressed where he was unable to continue the business. He helped with homeschooling the boys and managing the house. In 2012 his disease had progressed where him and his family switched roles and took care of him. In June of 2014 he made the hard decision to do Hospice care at home.

He truly had a huge, amazing heart and will be greatly missed.

You will find, as you look back upon your life, that the moments when you really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love.

Our family is so very sorry for your loss. Mike & his crew helped us with our landscaping needs for many years. But more importantly, he befriended our late son, Josh Moore, by letting Josh work with him for a couple of years and being truly a good friend to Josh during that time. Mike was a really great man who loved his family deeply. Our prayers are with you and we pray the Lord will comfort you in this difficult time.

Mike will always have a special place in mine and my families heart. As a young man, Mike took 2 kids under his wing and coached them the game of baseball. Not only that, but would take us bowling, fishing, baseball card conventions.... all kinds of cool things. He not only was a coach but later in life became a good friend. Miss you buddy.
