Jeanmarie Wielgosz, 74, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas, TX. She was surrounded by her family.
She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and friend whose love for her family knew no bounds.
Jeanmarie was born in Wilkes-Barre, March 24, 1940 to the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Boyle) Hankey. She was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Class of 1958. After her graduation, she lived and worked in Washington, D.C. as Executive Assistant to one of the original seven astronauts at the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, MD. She also worked as an Executive Assistant for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. After several years she returned to Wilkes-Barre, to marry and start a family.
Upon her return, she worked as Executive Assistant to the president of King Fifth Wheel Corporation in Mountain Top, PA. After spending several years in real estate and prior to retirement, she was employed by Baut Studios in Swoyersville.
Jeanmarie and her husband, Norman, relocated to Dallas, TX in 2003, where she enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family and young grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and fashion.
Her memory will be carried on by those who loved her, including children, Christopher and Cynthia; daughter-in-law, Jolene Wielgosz; son-in- law, Dean Elliott; beloved grandchildren Lukas and London Elliott; brothers Ralph and Robert Hankey; and nieces and nephews. She will be lovingly remembered as “Mom Mom” and “Jellybean”.
Jeanmarie is now reunited with with her parents, her husband, Norman S. Wielgosz, and cherished German Shepherds, “Blitz” and “Max”.
A Memorial Service in Jeanmarie’s honor will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church , 35 S. Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre, on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 am.
