Obituary
William Donald Parker passed away on April 1, 2015 after a tragic accident in his home.
He was born on September 22, 1926 in Dallas, Texas to Floy Muriel Parish-Vaughn (1900-1985) and Floyd Hutto Parker (1896-1966).
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Shirley, brother Floyd Hutto Parker, Jr., his 3 children, Andrea Teresa Parker, Matthew David Parker and William Derek Parker, his 3 grandchildren Jessica Rose married to Martin Kutz, Joshua Raymond Anderson married to Jennifer and Brandon Keith Young married to Angela and 5 great grandchildren Megan McDaniel, Johnathan Raymond Anderson, Jackson Parker Kutz, Aiden Baine Parker Young and Rhetton Wiley Kutz.
He was predeceased by his brother Robert Wilson Parker (1923-1987)married to Patty Cude and his sister Aileen Randolph Parker Rush (1919-2000) married to Jack Lewis Rush (1917-2007).
Bill joined the navy during World War II. He was an aviation mechanic and was Honorably discharged in 1944.
Bill married Shirley Jeanne Dyer in April of 1954 in Dallas, Texas. Their first born Derek came in 1955, followed by Matt in 1957 and Ande was born in Quanah, Texas in 1961. They lived in Quanah from 1957 until 1965. Bill went back to school while working for Texas Instruments to receive his Mechanical Engineering degree from Southern Methodist University in 1979. He later retired and spent most of his retirement years working on his family’s geneology. He published a compilation (375 pages) in 2005 of the Parker Family History.
Bill had a huge soft spot for all children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren have brought him much joy over the years. He was Pop to his grandchildren and Great Pop to his great grandchildren and he will be sorely missed by them all.

A celebration of life Service with Military Honors will be at 9:45 a.m. on Monday April 6th, 2015 at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
