I just learned that Bill had passed away last year. I was a media buyer at an ad agency and had the fortune to work with Bill at several different stations. He was a wonderful person to deal with who made it fun and professional at the same time. I am so sorry to learn of his passing and extend my sympathies to his family.

Our most sincere condolences go out to Bill's family and closest friends. Bill sold us 2 vehicles and treated us like gold. He earned our business through honesty and just plain great communication and follow through. He is in what we call the 1% club. We are proud to have known him. He made us happy customers...and from what I just read here, he made the world a better place. Bill was a genuine "Classic"! I think God is getting a good deal on a Yukon Denali as we speak:)

I saddened to learn of Billy's passing. To know Billy was to love him. He was genuine and honest and of the highest character. I played football against him then with him in high school and was proud to call him my friend. May the Lord comfort you, his family, during this time.

Mrs. Maples and Family,

I went to school with Billy. I first saw him dominating the flag football league in elementary school and was his classmate in junior and senior high. He is someone that I always liked, admired and respected, and I can see from the notes of others that, as an adult, his character remained strong. I'm sorry to learn of his passing. My condolences to you and your family.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Bill for the last 6 years. I purchased a couple of cars from him, one just a few months ago. I would stop in and just talk with him about life all the time. I will miss walking into that dealership and seeing him sitting in that corner office with that big white walrus mustache, smiling. God will enjoy his company too. He will be missed.

I was heartbroken to hear about the passing of Bill Maples. Bill was a legend at KTVT and a role model for me when I entered the broadcast business at KTVT in 1989. He was always positive, encouraging, and had a “never give up attitude”. He truly loved his family, had an accurate moral compass, and always made people feel welcome. I cherished the time I spent at his house socializing with his family, playing hoops in the back driveway (Don’t worry Bill, I will not tell anyone the score), and solving the complicated broadcast landscape over a few (and sometimes more)….. frosty cold ones. It was a privilege for all of us to get to know Bill Maples. And because of that, there is a little bit of Bill Maples in all of us; and the world is better place because of it. My thoughts and prayers are with Vivian, Darian, Elliott, and all his extended family. God Bless and RIP big man.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of Bill. I worked with Bill at KTVT back in the late 80's. He was always such a positive, larger than life guy with a can-do attitude.

I even visited with him and his family when he was GM at one of the TV stations in Colorado Springs while I was at 9NEWS in Denver.

My prayers are with Vivian and his family.

I only knew Bill for 9 mths here at Classic of Carrollton, his kind spirit and infectious smile made it easy to converse with him. He was so proud of his little brother getting a promotion with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol his smile from ear to ear when we talked about it. Sports was our other topic his love of Oklahoma teams and his dislike of my Dallas Cowboys every time I would wear my blue hat with the large D on the front he would say you really like those Duke Blue Devils with a big grin on his face. I will cherish the time I got to spend with Bill. Just know he will be missed. God Bless.... My prayers are with the Maples family at this time of need. Pistol Pete

We were saddened to hear the news of Bill's passing. I only had the opportunity this past December to know him as he sold us a new car for my daughter who was recovering from back surgery. Bill left a big impression with his friendliness, honesty, and compassion. We also discovered we had Ponca City in common as my mom had grown up there. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I met Bill three years ago at Classic GMC. I was so impressed with his sincerity, friendliness, love of God and his family that he became the only person I would ever want to buy a car from again. He took care of me and my family like no one has ever done. I know he was a blessing for everyone in his life, especially his family, whom he adored. He was a very special man that will truly be missed by all who knew him. God bless you Bill and your family.

I am deeply saddened and shocked to hear the news about Bill. I had the pleasure of working with Bill at KTVT when he started in 1989. As several people have expressed, he was a gentle giant. His heart was as big as they come. His laughter was absolutely contagious! And he always gave the greatest, most warm hugs of friendship when he saw you. My prayers go to Vivienne and your family. Heaven has gained an incredible angel! He will be missed terribly.

I came to know Bill's dad before Bill when he coached me in grade school football. They were both gentle giants in character and personality. I don't know of anyone who knew or worked with Bill who didn't truly love being around him. Bill placed the call to me to ask if I'd be interested in moving from Tulsa to Dallas. We both enjoyed being a couple of small town Oklahoma boys trying to make it the big city. Bill's passing leaves a big void here on earth and consumes a big space in Heaven.
