Obituary
James R. “Jim” West passed on April 7, 2015 in Plano, Texas. Jim was born March 9, 1932 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Paul E. & Florence E. (Wyatt) West. He lived in the Trousdale area, moving to Tecumseh in 1937. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1950, entering the United States Air Force in June 1950. West served more than 30 years combined service before retiring. Jim went on to work for The University of Texas, Petroleum Extension Service before retiring after 20 years. During this time Jim also served as the Director of the University of Oklahoma International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement for 15 years.
Jim was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. He was a perpetual member of Tecumseh Lodge #69 AF&AM, Scottish Rite (SJ) and Shrine Temple.
Jim was married to Adriana (Heijkoop) for 28 years until her passing. He was married to Betty M. (Stevenson) for 15 years until her passing. He was married to Barbara J. (Singleton) until his passing. He is survived by daughter Benita W. Campbell, son-in-law Lynn A. Campbell of Frisco, Texas, son Paul J. West, daughter-in-law Courtney K. West of Plano, Texas. Step daughters Robin Hill, son-in-law Marty Hill of Plano, Texas, Jodie Wietharn and son-in-law Gary Weitharn of Kansas City, Kansas. Sister Doris Marsh of Tulsa, brother Jack West of Ada, grand children: Jessica, Heather, Adam, Sean, Rachel, Jon, Abbey, Shelby, Brooke & Ben. Great grand daughters Highlyn & Reagan, niece Kathy West, nephews David West, Don & Greg Barnes, and grand nephew Adam A. West.
Memorial services will be on Thursday April 16,2015 at 11am at St. Andrew Methodist Church of Plano, 5801 W Plano Parkway, Plano.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made in memory of Jim West to any of the following charities; Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, CureSMA.org, or St. Andrew United Methodist Church of Plano.
