Obituary
Eric Scott McKeever, age 54, who was born on April 11, 1961 in Ann Arbor, MI passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, TX April 13, 2015 after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme brain cancer. Eric grew up in Indianapolis, IN and attended Ben Davis High School, class of 1979. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Co-Captain of his wrestling team and received various wrestling awards. He continued wrestling in college while attending Indiana University for three years before moving to Texas and graduating from University of Texas at Dallas with a B.A. in Government and Politics. He was also a well-respected and accomplished salesman in the automotive business in Dallas for over 20 years. Eric’s joys included swimming, triathlons, golf, snow skiing, relaxing at the beach, traveling and the Indy 500. His most proud and memorable accomplishment was completing the “Maui Channel Swim” in 2011. He was also a devoted member of the Dallas Aquatic Masters. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Joseph W. McKeever Col. USAR, ret. and sister, Mary Elizabeth McKeever. Survivors include the love of his life, Fiancee, Debbie Cornwell of Dallas, TX; Beloved Mother, Patricia R. Slear of Indianapolis, IN; Brothers, Patrick McKeever of Seminole, FL, Christopher Slear of Indianapolis, IN, and Joel Howard McKeever; Sisters, Rebecca Nurnberg of Indianapolis, IN, Edith McKeever Lang, and Sara McKeever Anderson; also eight Nieces, one Nephew, Two grand Nieces, Two grand Nephews, Aunts, an Uncle, numerous extended family members and dear friends. Eric McKeever was a wonderful person. He was kind-hearted and always ready for a challenge. I loved to hear his stories about the trips that he shared with Debbie. I am deeply saddened by his loss but take comfort that he is an angel in heaven.

Was so saddened to hear of Eric’s death way way too soon! PJ, your friendship and your mom whom I loved…your family in general… were such a big part of my high school years..my thoughts and prayers are with you. Sounds like Eric lived a wonderful life which we should all celebarte! Take care, all!
