Hays, Betty Jean
Obituary
Betty Jean Hays went home to be with the Lord on April 26, 2015 at the age of 88. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Sedwick and her husband Rob, her son, Kevin Hays and his wife Debbie, her grandsons, Taylor Dorman and his wife Mandy, Logan Dorman and his wife Monica, Michael Hays, her granddaughters, Katie Hays, Shannon Banner and her husband Clay, her four great-grandchildren, Hays Dorman, Harper Dorman, Kessler Dorman, and Sullivan Dorman, her sister Quata Elliott and countless friends and loved ones.
Betty followed the example of Christ by living every day of her life with strength and dignity while giving grace and love to everyone around her. Whether it was a phone call to say I love you or a hot pink kiss on the cheek, everyone in Betty’s life knew what they meant to her. Calling her “Nanny” was fitting, as she tirelessly cared for others before herself at every given opportunity. Nanny can now rest with the Lord and those who passed before her. “Blessed are those who die in the Lord…they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.” Rev 14:13
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday May 15, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Richardson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Betty’s memory.

Debbie and family. I’m so sad learn about Betty. She was a good and loyal friend and tho’ we didn’t see one another for a while, I will always remember her great personality and her sharp wit. I will miss her. My sincere condolences to you and your entire family. Rita Kile Lawrence
