Smith, Jeffrey L.
Obituary
Jeffrey Lee Smith was born in Dallas, Texas February 23, 1980. He was the beloved son of Melissa Smith. As a child Jeff loved to write short stories and poems. He carried this love of writing and literature into adulthood. His favorite writers were George Orwell and Charles Bukowski. After earning his insurance license in October 2009, Jeff worked for Novo 1 for nearly six years. He was passonate about his career and his employers counted on his expertise, relying on him to train peers at his company. Jeff enjoyed music, often listening to his favorite CD The Queen is Dead by The Smiths. He also enjoyed watching horror movies and dramatic tv shows like Breaking Bad and The Sopranos. Jeff’s most beloved companion was his cat Basil. He found and rescued Basil from behind a dryer in his apartment laundromat many years ago. Jeff’s biggest hobby was collecting coins. His collection included currency from many different countries and eras. Jeff was shy, but had a big loving heart. He never forgot a birthday and always put forth great effort to select gifts that were meaningful and from the heart. Jeffrey Lee Smith, 35, of Euless, Texas passed away May 23, 2015. I have worked with Jeff for the last year and a half, and in that time I came to greatly respect and appreciate him. He was always polite, knowledgeable and a fun person to be around. He had a great sense of humor and was an excellent source of trivial knowledge (which I too am a fan of). At our office he was the ultimate subject matter expert and was always willing to help when people had problems. He is greatly missed by everyone who knew him here.
I did not know Jeff well, but respected the person he was. He had a certain kindness about him and was well thought of by others. My prayers go out to his friends & family that God’s peace will surround you at this time.
