Henderson, Meredith J.
Obituary
Come and share your stories and precious memories of our beloved wife, daughter, sister, and friend, “Missy” Meredith Henderson at a celebration of her life that will be held at 3:00 P.M., Monday, July 6, 2015 at ARIA Memorial Chapel in Dallas. Meredith Henderson, age 70, died June 24th after a long fight with cancer. She was a fiery comet who brightened the lives of all who knew her. Meredith was a true original and unapologetically genuine. Funny and quick, she was fun-loving and adventurous enjoying travel and camping. She also loved music, all animals (especially Zackary, Sadie, and Gus), reading, movies and TV, her friends madly, her husband, siblings and her parents to the moon. She channeled Gus McCrae of Lonesome Dove who said, “If you want only one thing too much, it’s likely to turn out a disappointment. Now the only healthy way to live, as I see it, is to learn to like all the little every day things.” Mere understood this because she loved life with a passion and that is all encompassing. She was spiritual in her own way, having respect for all creatures, great and small. She would do anything for anyone but had extreme trouble with asking for a hand. She was so brave and fought so hard and won 3 bouts of cancer; the 4th, her battle came up a little short. Survived by her beloved husband, Willie Henderson; her mother, Jean Barnes; her siblings, Rob, Beverly and Elizabeth and their spouses and children; her daughter Lori Solomon; cat Gus (“the softest cat in the world”); and other extended family members she loved and adored. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Barnes, who taught her so well to, “Never, never, never give up.” In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Black Beauty Ranch at http://www.blackbeautyranch.org/ Arrangements are under the direction of ARIA Cremation Service and Funeral Home 19310 Preston Road Dallas, Texas 75252 214-306-6700

Dear Willie,
Meredith’s feisty spirit and her beautiful smile will always be with me, an inspiration for me to put on my happy more often. I know how much you meant to her and how much you will miss her. You and Gus have to comfort each other. Don’t shut yourself from friends.
Meredith was truly a special person, a treasured friend for 20 years, always ready to share a talk, laugh or a glass of wine. I will miss her very much. My thoughts are with Will and her extended family on this sad occasion.
Willie,
You must know how deeply saddened I am over our loss. Missy and I were the best of friends; she was my sister, my rock, my source of wisdom, and the one person who could and would set me straight, I will miss her so-so very much.
Without my sister I know my life will never be the same.
I could never find a better and more caring friend.
She has left us with so many wonderful memories, I will cherish them forever.
I love You Willie
In Deep Sorrow,
Penny Lynch
Our dear sweet, feisty, comical friend will be missed by many. She was such a down to earth, inspirational, loving person. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Willie was her hero and she would kiss the ground he walked on if asked. So much love and devotion right to the end. She told some of the funniest stories. One being their trip to Germany. Her loss is enormous to so many on this earth, but heaven has gained another Angel. RIP my dear friend. Dear Willie, so sorry for the loss of your best friend and the love of your life.
We are saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Henderson. She was such a bright, cheerful and strong woman. It was our absolute pleasure to have known her and to have worked with her. She was a truly inspirational person to us and many other survivors out there. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Much Love,
Brooke Ellis, PT and Lisa Darnell, OT
